That's concerning. Walsh is a POS, he's probably taking CMac to the cleaners.
I would say quite the opposite. Sounds a lot more like Drouin driving the bus wanting a deal to get done. That's concerning. Walsh is a POS, he's probably taking CMac to the cleaners.
Yeah this is what I gathered too, at least a bit more than Walsh.I would say quite the opposite. Sounds a lot more like Drouin driving the bus wanting a deal to get done.
They need to do whatever they can to win as much as possible while Ovy is still there. They need guys force feeding him one-timers until he can no longer skate. The guy has the chance to break Wayne's record and you must do whatever it takes to help him.Honestly, with Ovechkin still there, why not? They don’t have anything to lose
CMac's side:
Avalanche Journal: What could Jonathan Drouin’s next contract look like?
There are not a lot of players in recent NHL history that easily compare to the situation currently in front of Jonathan Drouin and the Colorado Avalanche.www.denverpost.com
Looks like it but the question is how. Trade one of Girard/Colton/Manson? Gamble on Nuke not being able to come back at full cap hit in November (ie: termination/trade)?I'm gonna take a guess and say they will find the money for Drouin.
My guess is they will use the 10% overage if the Nuke situation isn’t resolved prior to July 1.I'm gonna take a guess and say they will find the money for Drouin.
That would be nice, but I have a hard time seeing it happening under 4.They'll settle for 3,5mil aav with Drouin and we're all gonna love it!
Can you explain this to me like I’m Michael Scott with a budget surplus please lol.My guess is they will use the 10% overage if the Nuke situation isn’t resolved prior to July 1.
You can exceed the cap by 10% until the first day of the season. Can you explain this to me like I’m Michael Scott with a budget surplus please lol.
Ah ok thank you. I didn’t know you can exceed during summer. Knew you had to be compliant by like right before regular season starts. That might be their best option. Really wish we (I) knew when Landeskog could be back for my ACGM duties I take very responsibly. You can exceed the cap by 10% until the first day of the season.

My expectations are that as long as the nuke situation is unresolved, I'd expect the Landeskog situation to remain 'murky'.The problem is the timing.
They won't likely know whether Landeskog can make a legit go at it until we are into the Summer, and most good FAs will be signed by then. That's a tough situation. If Landeskog figures out he can't do it in September (for example), the Avs get $7M in space, but could they effectively use it?
With Nichushkin, who knows? If they are going to settlement on this thing, it also has to happen relatively soon for a similar reason.
An even 88 million cap for the next season.
