I’d say yes even though his contract won’t age well .Naz 50% retained for Nuke + #24 pick?

It's happening!
Damn it !! too bad the Avs have very little space under the cap . Kadri was fitting like a glove on the Avs lineup.
Yes it is, I am 33 and my body is f8cked lol33 isn't old
Great song btwPlease get Naz nothing else matters
Agreed . *cue Metallica song*Please get Naz nothing else matters
$5.25M? If you could get them to retain so he's under $5 I would do it. Although, I doubt Calagry wants to retain that much for the next 5 years.I dont think you get 50% retention, but maybe like 25%?
Probably not but they are entering a full blown rebuild so does it really matter to them ? Much less likely than if they were on the cusp of competing$5.25M? If you could get them to retain so he's under $5 I would do it. Although, I doubt Calagry wants to retain that much for the next 5 years.

Now, if you could get a 3rd team to help facilitate the deal...
Getting Calgary to retain for 5 years would already be very hard. Finding a second team to retain as well would prbably be impossible. Now, if you could get a 3rd team to help facilitate the deal...
Same!If Naz comes back, I'm buying his jersey immediately
Retentions slots do matter.Probably not but they are entering a full blown rebuild so does it really matter to them ? Much less likely than if they were on the cusp of competing
Don’t disagree , and haven’t seen what Calgary’s retention slot looks like but same idea here that they won’t be competitive for the next 5 years so does it really make or break them ? I’d say no . They need picks and prospects and get rid of heavy weight (Huberdeau impossible )Retentions slots do matter.
Also, how interested is the owner paying for retention.Retentions slots do matter.
It does matter if you intend to be a seller at deadlines. You give up a chunk of the return if you can't retain.Don’t disagree , and haven’t seen what Calgary’s retention slot looks like but same idea here that they won’t be competitive for the next 5 years so does it really make or break them ? We still don't know how the Nuke, Landy and Drouin situations play out. Maybe we need a top-6 winger. You could stick Mitts or Kadri to the wing. Not saying we should pursue this, but it's not that stupid of an idea. We're hurting for cap space and some of you want to waste money so Mittelstadt or Kadri can play 3C? Jesus Christ.

You should always have at least one open when you start the season. Or, do proper retention if you use all your slots for multiple years. Which is my big problem with Mike Grier and his EK and Hertl trades. It does matter if you intend to be a seller at deadlines. You give up a chunk of the return if you can't retain.
