OT: 2024-2025 News Around The NHL Thread

I'm usually not one for lopsided blowouts, but watching Flames/Rangers tonight was incredible. Flames fans just absolutely let Adam Fox have it relentlessly all night. Tremendously enjoyable. It's rare to see that kind of vitriol from fans these days, especially in professional (rather than collegiate) sports.

I love hockey.

Did anybody ever call them a model rebuild?
They got ridiculously lucky by winning the 1st and 2nd OA picks from a place in the standings where it's no longer even possible.
Nearly all of their first round picks have either busted or disappointed.
They had the luxury of being where Trouba, Panarin, and Fox wanted to sign.

I can't remember anybody calling them a model rebuild, just a shockingly fast one.

Yeah, lots of people on the mains were calling them the model rebuild.
 
Checked in with a couple PHI fans regarding Yandle.

He got off to a great start with 5pts in his first 3 games but has been pointless the next 7 games.
Apparently was pulled off #1 PP unit for no reason.

Mixed reviews on him, one saying he's worn out and others saying not bad as a #5/6 guy.

If you didnt hear. NYI played there first game of the season at home in new arena. The great ESPN team broadcast the game

They start the game by introducing the game "Atlanta Flames vs NYI" as they play Calgary Flames

It also looks like NYI couldnt even sell out a new arena. At least a lot empty seats
 
the canes drop has really been something. goes to show it's hard to keep up that level of play in this league.

For sure, only TB of recent past operate at ~60 win pace all year.

Always hate to schedule wins but this will be a grind for CAR.
Look at their schedule ahead:

5 game road trip in 7 days!!
BUF plays better than their record
WPG is gonna wake up again
CGY, EDM and MIN will grind you up if you sleep in
DET isn't an easy out anymore.

Not that CAR effects our spot in Atlantic but they're definitely a Metro team that we need to learn how to beat on consistent basis.
