But it means they’ll PLAY as opposed to NOT, which has been insinuated by more than one or two here.

Y’all have no idea what Mo is gonna do, that’s the actual truth, and same for me. Just shootin the shit here.

I've been saying repeatedly for months that a couple of our prospects will see regular playing time this season. Idk who insinuated that it won't be the case, but it certainly wasn't me. It's just simple math, they have to play.

But I can safely say that no prospect is starting the season on Barkov's wing, which is the point I was arguing. And if they do, I'll gladly eat crow because that means we have maybe a future star winger coming up.

The whole Oil Kings team was disappointing in the Memorial Cup I thought. Still, Sourdif had 2 assists in 3 games which isn't terrible. Overall, he had a great season with 87 pts in 74 total games. And his all-around game took a big step forward.

On a side/draft related note, I like how Angus Booth, D for Shawinigan looked in the tourney. He plays the kind of steady, responsible game we need more of in our system. I wouldn't mind drafting him with our 3rd or 4th. I assume some of our scouts/front office got a good look at him, given surely some of them were there watching Sourdif play.

Also, I wonder if we take Schwindt's brother Kai in the 7th. He played on a team with a lot of draft eligible players. He's 6'3" like Cole, but even bigger than Cole was. He'll need to improve his skating and offensive touch if he wants to become an NHLer though. But I like over some other late round "project" types in this draft. And he has a viable NHL prospect as his brother to help him along.

Definitely good signs from Sourdifs senior season, big part on both teams this year and very well rounded skillset.

On topic of other sibling draftees, is Lundells brother in this draft and where does he project to go? What type of player would he be?

Asking you and others who may have watched him

Yeah, Kasper Lundell, C/LW. Projected as a mid-rounder. Not as talented as Anton, but supposedly has similar strong hockey sense, and a very strong work ethic. He's also smaller. I haven't watched him but I've read up a little bit on him.

Projected to go? To your Mom’s bedroom #LundellSwagger

also I just noticed something: Denisenko had two goals including the Ot winner during the game that he broke his kneemcap. Guy was trending upwards

Turning 19 in August, played 22 games, 18 with SKA-1946.
Hoping he gets more games in, maybe up to 35-40 this year?

Thinking it's a 2 year deal and he comes over to AHL when he's 21-22 years old and starts his journey as a NHL backup in mid 20's if things go well?

Feel like we've never focused on goalies prospects as much as the last 3-4 years?

Yeah I heard its a 3 year deal, it's a good timeline for him to come over to Charlotte after. Good timing, because by then we'll start to have an idea if Guzda can hack it in the nhl or not.

Lu in management has definitely given a pulse to our goalie scouting, which was sorely needed.

The cynic in me thinks Zito looks at the Bob albatross and is like "never again".

Whatever the reason, the early results have been very promising.
Luongo definitely doing his job, still wish we had Levi, that kid just has it, really pulling for him.

We're gonna need a healthy pipeline of cheap backups while Knight is taking over.

Zito gets top grade for addressing positional needs through all forms of acquisition. Has hit on some key guys so far for basically nothing but money.

The guys he's brought in like Bennett, Duclair, Reinhart and Verhaeghe will have trade value if they need to be moved for cap/going to free agency.

Unless Deni or Hepo or Korshkov set the preseason on fire then it's safe to say they won't start with 1st line minutes. At least not early on in the season.

Has it been mentioned anywhere that Korshkov will be in camp? Elite prospects lists him as signed with Locomotiv through 2022-23.

https://www.nhl.com/news/mike-benning-looking-to-continue-familys-nhl-legacy-with-panthers/c-335081846 Sent with @NHL

Nice piece about Benning. When do you guys think we can expect him to join us? After he finished university, so in 2 years?
Hopefully they get him to leave after next year. So one more year of college, then he might need 1-2 years of ahl time before he will seriously compete for a spot. The main thing with Benning is putting on about 10-15 more lbs. of muscle(along with continuing to improve in his own end). His iq and skill level is already pretty much where it needs to be. I think the same can be said of Staios. Benning is 5'9", 177. Staios is 5'10", 179. It seems like they will be competing for the same spot in 2-3 years.

WJC try 2: Samskovich (USA), Kos (Czechia), Puutio (Finland) are the representatives unless I'm forgetting something.

Looks like Sourdif decided not to go
