Given the turmoil at UMICH I wonder is Samkovich might come out early and join Charlotte this year

It's a little shady, but hopefully not. College is good for him right now. That level is perfect for him right now and he gets to spend a lot of time in the gym(hopefully he is). He needs to get a little bigger and stronger. I don't think he'd be that good right now in the A, plus Charlotte is a little stacked up front.

Ludvig Jansson is on Team Sweden (last minute call-up), while Sandis Vilmanis made the Latvian team.

If my numbers are right, that means we have five players in the WJC: Samsko (USA), Puutio (Florida North), Kos (Czechia), and these two. Might have had Sourdif (Canada) if he wasn't injured. Not bad for a weak prospect pool!

Our prospect pool is a lot more modest now, but still underrated.

Watched/watching the first two days: didn't see much from Kos. Vilanis is trying to do too much. Puutio had a good rush
Kos has a shot. Need to see more from him. There might not be anything else there, but maybe with longterm development he can be molded into a player. I've been reading up on Vilmanis, and he didn't disappoint. Extremely skilled kid, with size and a great skater too. I can see why some draft geeks had him in their top 90. But yeah, his game needs a lot of refinement. We might have something with him though. Puutio isn't bad. Idk if he's an NHLer, but he might make a callup or two. He looks like he could be maybe a bottom pairing PMD. But he's not quite talented enough offensively to play the pp imo, and his defense isn't good enough to really be a two-way guy. I don't really see a role for him in the NHL.

I felt like Vilmanis floated a lot this game, but perhaps that was the right strategy for this game.

I could see Puutio making it in the league, but a few years out.

he has another assist at least
Sammy def has vision out there.. he seems like the third guy on a line. I just don't know if he is projecting right now for our top 6

I like Jansson's game, he looks like an NHLer. Very smooth in the offensive zone, calm with the puck. He's been decent in his own end. He needs to get stronger though. He looks really outmuscled at times. And this is just junior level, I can only imagine him being outmuscled in Allsvenskan.

Mackie kinda reminds me of giroux.. seems very good every shift with a ton of talent.. kinda wonder why he isn't on a higher line at this point

I think chemistry: he was on the top line with Beniers in the first try at the WJC...

Puutio is getting better and better since last 2 years...Some players stop they're devellopment but he seems to be stronger than before( he his even bigger than last year, not a big player but better size than last year)and confident. Florida should keep and eye on this good prospect!
Given our lack of good D, I sure hope we’re looking at him in a couple of years. He looks at least as good as Olli Määttä.

Maattas career was completely ruined by injuries sadly.

Looked so promising as a rookie
