A quick Roundup on the Panthers 3 Canadian Hockey League prospects:

Sourdif has played two games with his new team, the Edmonton Oil Kings. Has one assist.

Haché has gone pointless in his last 10 games for the Kingston Frontenacs. Can't really expect much from a stay-at-home defenseman I guess.

Nause has not played since December 18th. I believe that QMJHL has been shut down since then, expecting it to start back up in February.

With about three minutes left in the game, it looked like Mike Benning's fourth-ranked Denver University team was going to get upset by Miami, who are ranked 49th. All the sudden Denver flipped the switch and tied the game up with two goals , and Benning with the OT goal in a 5-4 Denver win.

Benning has to be our most fascinating prospect. It'll be interesting to see how he turns out.
You would think between Benning, Ludvig, Nause, Gildon, Juolevi, Kiersted, Priskie, and Carlsson, there HAS to be at least 2 guys that can be full-time contributors without being complete dumpster fires. They just need games.

Yeah, it's interesting because I thought Ludvig was close, but he's missed so many games this season. It's almost a lost development year for him. As of right now, Carlsson and OJ are way ahead of him. Even Kiersted and Priskie. Will be interesting to see if we re-sign Priskie too.

There's been too much interference with their schedule so that they don't get the games they need in order to develop properly. Like even now the Checkers is a combo of Panthers and Kraks prospects and career AHLers, and their coach is unable to develop the prospects under his wing into NHLers. Maybe Bylsma can help in that regard but he's Seattle's coach.

Zito has to take a look into what goes on in their AHL affiliate because if the AHLers become NHLers at a very minuscule percentage then it doesn't matter how well the Panthers draft (unless they find absolute gems like Lundell who can be put into the roster without going the AHL route).

I think Kinnear is gone at the end of the season. I'm confident Zito realizes the importance of the ahl team's role in player development. Even if Charlotte makes the playoffs it'll be just barely. That team should be in comfortably. Seattle has some good prospects there.

Yeah I think that whole staff needs an enema.

Berger with a secondary assist in UConn's 5-1 non-conference win over my alma mater, Yale.

Samoskevich I believe with the primary assist in Michigan's 6-2 win over Wisconsin.
The game must have had its right purchase somewhere, because I can't find the box score anywhere.

Don't sleep on Uens.
He is having a good season, while most of the D prospects are struggling or dealing with injuries.

Smilianic had a primary assist on a gwg in Quinnipiac's 2-0 win over UConn. The Bobcats won a trophy for the win, I believe it was for the top college team in the state of Connecticut.
He had a nice Rush, and his teammate cleaned up the rebound for his assist.

Benning with a PPA, as the third-ranked in the nation Denver University's big 8-5 comeback win against #7 ranked St Cloud State. Denver was down 3-0 after the first.
No video highlights of this game. Sounded like a shot from the point by Benning, and a rebound goal.

Wow, that's a big win for Denver, especially overcoming that kind of early deficit. Very Panther-like.

Hutsko has 26 points in 40 games.
Hippo has 23 points in 28 games.
Schwindt has 25 points in 40 games.
Denisenko has 18 points in 30 games.
Noel has 12 points in 37 games.

Just stat watching, but it looks like Hippo is overripe down there. He's really, really overdue for an extended look with the big club. Hutsko can be written off. He's turning 23 this week and isn't even making noise in the AHL. Denisenko and Noel have put up very disappointing numbers.

Hippo continues to be overlooked here, idk why. He continues to prove at every level that his size isn't an issue. He even contributed at the nhl level. I used to doubt him too but he proved me wrong. I wouldn't write off Hutsko, he's 23 but he's straight out of college, its his first year in the ahl. Hepo has been playing in it for years, the rest also have experience. Hutsko has also had two major leg injuries. He always seems to be around the puck and making things happen. Could be a solid if unspectacular bottom 6er, but hey you need those too. Schwindt is doing well. Deni is a bit of an enigma, he's looked ok in the nhl but the ahl production is concerning. Noel is an even bigger enigma, looked semi dominant in preseason. I think most of these kids need another year in the A. Hepo might be the one to land a full time gig in Florida next season.

hutsko should be written off?? it's his first pro year. kid has a solid pedigree.

hepo has had some looks. the last time, he looked a bit more like he belonged but we have a lot of depth and it's hard to say he's more effective than the other players we have. and he's waiver-exempt.

deni and noel are disappointing for sure but there still may be time.

I just don't see Denisenko ever amounting to anything, I wished we could've traded that pick. Same goes for Noel, which is sad to see. Hopefully I am wrong.

Hepo needs to be on on our team next year. He is a great playmaker who just needs more time to mature in the NHL. He has never looked out of place when he played with us.
