Lol figured, everyone hates that kid for no reason it seems. I saw he had an assist taken away on one of the overturned goals.

Turned it over more than a few times and also could not handle the forecheck at all. It was a super rough night. The bias in here is showing. He was awful

There was only two turnovers of consequence, one at the blueline down two snd the EN goal. I didn't think he did a terrible job against the forecheck, once it became a battle along the boards he struggled...this is something we already knew. He was also up against Canada's top line all night, something you seem to be exclude.

He had like 3 bad shifts and 2 bad turnovers, you've lost the plot with this "super rough night" stuff.

If you have a pre-percieved notion about a player going into a viewing, good or bad, you will dwell on a small portion of what you see. Nothing was going to change about Luke's strengths or weaknesses in this game, just the execution and results. If Hisch13r thinks he, along with the EP crew, discovered the holy grail to Luke's game and his future potential, they are naive.

What did Luke do tonight that everyone on twitter and our favorite resident Devils hater Rachel Doerrie is liking tweets about him being bad?
Always the professional lol.

I assume she’s talked to a ton of NHL Scout and Scouting Directors and everyone of them said very negative things about Luke’s performance vs Canada.

He was absolutely exhausted on the 5th goal against, that wasn’t poor hockey sense or anything. Everyone was out of gas. The game was also basically over by then and he wasn’t on the ice for any of the first 4 GA.

The last point is literally what people forget about Luke, yeah he'll mess up but the chances are he'll make up for it. The other two Hughes have that in their games too, mostly Quinn since they play the same position but we've seen some boneheaded giveaways from Jack over the years only for him to go bar down on the ensuing shift.

Well I hope you guys are right about Luke, I paid little attention to the WJC, all I knew is that Nemec apparently outplayed him badly in the Slovakia game, and yes the empty net highlight looked bad last night (which prompted me to come here to see the comments) but they probably weren’t scoring a legal goal at that point anyway lol

I’ve watched all of our prospects’ games and Slovakia outplayed the US in general that game. It happens, not many negative conclusions to pull from the WJC usually.

I don’t think this is even about Doerrie or the woman with Elite Prospects. Hughes is now associated with a grievance. It’s not going to stop when he gets to the NHL. In five years he’ll be in the ECF or something and have a turnover and someone is going to tweet a gif of it with a caption like “L&k3 H&gh3s, if you know you know”.

It’s f***ing pathetic and people need to go outside and get a breath of fresh air.

That’s no goal, can’t push the goalie in the net
i only just now saw the replay of this goal and that is 100000000000000000000000000000000000% a goal. besides the simple fact the goalie himself seemed completely fine with the play and didn't get up and go after the ref tells you that he didn't think he was interfered with. just teaching these goalies to sell the interference at an early stage

That overturned Luke Goal which would've made it 3-3 absolutely CHANGED the game in Canada's favor.

'Cause think about it :

3-3....U.S. has momentum and who knows? Maybe they take a 4-3 lead next..

Yet another instance of Referees determining who wins and loses and not the players.

I mean they showed the Canada goalie and player talking right after and they were talking and shook their heads in a way that looked to me like they didn’t think it would count. Plus the fact that you can’t just push the goalie into the net.

But it very obviously shouldn’t have counted. You can’t stand in the crease and impede the goalie from sliding over.

An instance of the rules having a major impact on who wins or loses. Which is how it should be

Kinda like that shit stain ref making the call on both goals.
So the Finnish ref had it out for the USA? C'mon, Man.

What's more disconcerting is the USA gave up almost 50 shots.

And while it's not popular to say on here, another championship game where Luke Hughes seemed to fade rather than dominate.

Plenty of blame to go around for sure (the top line was a combined -8) but to this point there should be some concern.

His game is trending more Keith Yandle than Victor Hedman (good for fantasy hockey but in terms of winning championships not so much).

There is a clique of seemingly mentally deranged hockey women that loathe Luke Hughes. This was the supposed horrendous game people are freaking out about.
The clique - or "Mean Girls" as I like to call them - both gave this tweet a like:

And that's all I could take, I let it rip in the comments section.
