Was watching TSN and they didn’t really have a strong opinion either way. That's not what I heard.
How? He’s standing in the crease blocking him. Pretty simpleOof that overhead look of the GI. Heinous call.
The announcer was reading the rule as they just showed it and he didn’t feel that broke the rule as it is written. How? He’s standing in the crease blocking him. Pretty simple
What announcer and what rule? The announcer was reading the rule as they just showed it and he didn’t feel that broke the rule as it is written.
NHL Network and they read the IIHF rule. What announcer and what rule?
IIHF 69.1 section 2:What announcer and what rule?
What do you mean he wasn’t impeded?! He was sliding over and as he was doing that ran into the US player. There is very clearly contact that stops him as he slides over.NHL Network and they read the IIHF rule.
It doesn’t look like the goalie is impeded by me. The goalie is stretching his leg out and the US player being there didn’t change his positioning or ability to make the save at all; there is almost no contact and none that appears to impede the goalie.
When outside of the crease lol. It was in the crease and he made no effort whatsoever to avoid it.IIHF 69.1 section 2:
"Goals should be disallowed only if:
(II) an attacking Player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a Goalkeeper, inside or outside of their Goal Crease. “Incidental contact” with a Goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the Goal Crease, provided the attacking Player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact."
Was just quoting the rule haha! When outside of the crease lol. It was in the crease and he made no effort whatsoever to avoid it.
He’s stretching his leg out which causes his upper body to flip forward as he tries to stretch his leg more. He doesn’t get over more or less because of any contact that he causes. What do you mean he wasn’t impeded?! He was sliding over and as he was doing that ran into the US player. There is very clearly contact that stops him as he slides over.
He wasn’t just stretching tho. He was sliding over and ran into the USA player as he did so.He’s stretching his leg out which causes his upper body to flip forward as he tries to stretch his leg more. He doesn’t get over more or less because of any contact that he causes.
No way that 2nd one should count. 1st one was borderline but I think it should have.Refs are garbage, two clear goals
Just quoted the rule the US commentator quoted before the start of the 3rd.You quoted a rule saying incidental contact is allowed outside of the crease.
Amazing yet strange how I feel the complete opposite on the 2 goal calls. No way that 2nd one should count. 1st one was borderline but I think it should have.
Officiating has actually been excellent in this tournament, breath of fresh air compared with the NHL.
I don’t know who has said what where. All I know is the rule he just posted doesn’t say much about the goal that got ruled off.Just quoted the rule the US commentator quoted before the start of the 3rd.
That feed to keep the play in the zone was very good.Luke Hughes is nasty.
