Guillermo needs to be gone now with Atkins right behind him if we miss the playoffs. How you can have Vlad, Kirk, and Springer have massive down years without doing anything to try and spark/add to the offense is inexcusable. This team would be running away with the AL with good coaching or another bat.

Yup and Belly Flop Jr strikes out to complete the goose egg.

6th in less than two months.
It's actually been 8 times.

June 19th 11-0 vs Miami

June 27th 3-0 vs San Francisco

June 30th 5-0 vs Boston

July 8th 2-0 vs Detroit

July 19th 2-0 vs San Diego

August 8th 1-0 vs Cleveland

August 18th 1-0 vs Cincinnati

Tonight vs Baltimore 7-0

Just absolutely f***ing pathetic.

I just looked it up.

Since June 19th vs Miami the Jays have been shutout 8..... EIGHT!!!! Times.

Opposing starters in those games:
Hoeing
Wood
Paxton
Manning (no hitter lol)
Darvish
Bibee
Kennedy
Kremer

Not exactly great pitching lol. What's sad is most of the games were close because the Jays pitchers did their job

Only silver lining if they miss is Atkins probably gets fired.

Click probably doesn’t just trade for Paul DeJong at the deadline and call it a day.

That was an inexcusable deadline tbh. Yeah, you got Hicks, great. Do something about the offense.

Yup. With the exception of tonight's game and the June 19th game, every other loss was relatively close..

I still cannot believe this 9 week stretch. LMFAO

Well I don't know if I go that far, but, they would definitely be in a much better spot. 100%

No dam leadership on this team. And management just sits on their hands doing squat with the hitting situation. Is there someone out there that can try to help readjust things, maybe build up their confidence too? Cause those in charge of hitting ain’t earning their paycheque.

Unfortunately the farm is just not good enough to do much more. Another reason Shapiro and Shatkins need to go.

I’d like to think the farm is pretty underrated. Plenty of quality prospects that are on the cusp of reaching the majors. Has a very Rays feel that if someone goes down they have a solid replacement in the wings.

Someone needs to call them out.

If I’m the manager Flop doesn’t play tonight. Let him decide if he’s too stupid or too lazy to play first.

Why is it that whenever the Jays lay a goose egg it's always Vladdy's fault? Merrifield has a sub .300 OBP as the leadoff hitter... I'd honestly rather put Springer back up there and get Schneider in right now.

The vitriolic hate for Guerrero right now is something else and I'm certainly dubious that the reaction would be the same if it was a young white hitter having an average season. And it isn't even like he's signed a huge contract yet and getting overpaid is a reason for derision.

His approach for the last month has been great (15BB:12K) but it seems like the mechanical thing is popping up again where he's rolling over on too many balls. But he's lazy! He's fat! He swings at everything! His shirt is untucked! He's laughing in the dugout sometimes! Everything bad is his fault!

If the Jays can not hit Gibson then maybe they are truly pathetic. His last start he allowed 4 runs to Oakland, and the start before that one he got lit up for 9 against a team we are directly competing against at the moment. Just get it done tonight, bats.

Yeah, because baseball totally has a history of fat players sucking. David Wells, Mo Vaughn, CC Sabathia, Both Fielders at varying points in their careers, Bartolo Colon, Dmitri Young, Pablo Sandoval, Jonathan Broxton, Babe frigging Ruth.

Maybe they need to get into better shape with regards to cardio or something like that, but let's not pretend that them being massive guys is some automatic death knell. Pitchers and 1Bs have always historically been able to perform even if they're heavy because the weight doesn't have an impact on them the way it would at other positions. Now Kirk, on the other hand... Though in his case it's less about him being less effective because of his weight and more that he's gonna murder his knees and be moved off the position sooner if he continues to carry such a heavy frame.
I get ur point and it is very well taken .. but imagine all those guys and Vlady and Manoah if they took their conditioning SERIOUSLY .. holy they'd be SUPERSTARS

CC's been on record as saying that his weight loss hindered his performance on the mound. Perhaps Manoah overindulged but it's less about losing all of that excess weight and probably more about getting back to where he once was.

Sure, let’s bring that element into it, there’s always one person that needs to..geez

Some embarrassing defending in the past few. Vlad should be bleeding future contract money at this point, memories are nice but what have you done lately.

When you read the consistent over-the-top hate from some people, it's difficult not to.

And there has always been a consistent theme here of people loving traditional 'white guy' baseball ethos of being ultra-serious all the time while getting absolutely triggered by the more Caribbean ethos of having fun, untucking your shirt or wearing your hat sideways, or whatever.

We're seeing multiple posts every day calling Guerrero a lazy fat slob, etc. It's awful and it's embarrassing.

We all know he's underperforming, and people will try to find a reason why. The easiest excuse is for people to look at his weight, although I don't think it's that bad. He's just naturally a big guy. The reason is likely technical and the average baseball fan won't have a clue so they just say 'He's too fat' out of ignorance. Baseball is a weird sport a player can make minor tweaks, and it can make a huge difference. Varsho's toe tape as an example.

My frustration with Vladdy is his 80 grade hit tool with 18 home runs and an eye that makes him swing at pitches that are balls the second they are out the pitchers hand... down in the dirt and away.

You're literally the only one to bring race into this. Truly pathetic argument.

Varsho has probably gotten more hate on here than anyone, but I digress. The expectations are so high with Guerrero, that’s the main problem. It doesn’t help that he jogs out potential doubles and ground balls. No issues in having fun, but when you’re on the field, you better work you ass off.

I'm as frustrated as anyone with him, to be clear. Watching a player with that much talent hit so many ground balls is baffling.

But the absolute hate/vitriol toward him is just not cool. Matt Chapman has been far worse since April and is getting paid more and you don't see this sort of tone in his case.

His weight isn't a problem. He was the same size in 2021, he's a naturally big guy, and his athleticism just isn't an issue.

The criticism of Varsho has been limited to his play. The criticism of Guerrero consistently goes way beyond that, to the point where people are ragging on him for untucking his jersey at the end of games and that sort of thing. Consistent personal insults every day here.

Almost nobody in baseball runs out routine ground balls consistently which is why a guy like Kiermaier stands out like a sore thumb. I'd like to see Guerrero do it better but he isn't different from 90% of MLB players in that regard.
