Bassitt is such a gamer. How can you not love this guy. Not to mention he’s amazing. Huge fan. His first start was obviously a disaster but since then he’s been incredible

They've really needed him with Manoah falling off so badly this year. He's done a solid job in that 3-4 role after Gausman and Berrios.

Wish we had Gurriel. I always liked him. Good hitter. Strong arm.
Streaky hitter, terrible defensive instincts, pending free agent.

I was sad to see him leave because he was one of the fun guys but:

Mar-May: 206 PA, .311/.359/.547, .906 OPS, 9 HR, 30 RBI, 6.3% BB, 15.5% K, 142 wRC+
Jun-Jul: 131 PA, .197/.252/.402, .654 OPS, 6 HR, 23 RBI, 6.1% BB, 19.8% K, 72 wRC+

Yeah pre-June Gurriel was an all-star and the best we'd ever seen from him for that long, but he still is who he is. The only thing that still looks good from the last month and a half are HRs (IIRC the Arizona stadium is a bit of a bandbox, as are others in the NL West) and RBIs (which he's going to keep getting hitting in the middle of the lineup). Everything else is cratering hard.

Even in March/April, he had an 86 wRC+.

I did not follow his career but anyone can tell me why Jay Jackson never really had his chances in the big league? Did he have many injuries cause he did not pitch many innings in career but his stats are relatively good and he pitches well this season.
