Well that turned out not to be a wasted effort by the pitching staff, they finally remembered how to hit late in the game, although with some help by the d-backs D.

Finally 10 games over .500 for the first time all year.

Moreno finally displaying a little power seems about right for Toronto sports. Varsho balancing some of that out by getting on base a couple times and coming up with a huge OF assist was a nice touch.

Great game overall... nice start from Berrios, great performance from mostly the second-tier relievers, a few big defensive plays, and a really nice night with the bats. Can't complain much about that one.

Off topic to the game but this is something that grinds my gears. I just went on tsn to check the box score because I missed the game and the picture they have of Berrios has him in a Twins hat. Like it's his third year in Toronto can they not update his picture. They take forever to get updated pictures of players. Like it's their whole job to do this.

That’s a legit gripe. It probably shouldn’t, but it gets me too.

I like Belt being used 3rd and honestly it should have been done earlier in the season. Having Springer, Bichette and Vlad hit back to back to back is in my humble opinion stupid. It forces Springer and Bichette to hit something or else Vlad has nobody on base. And Vlad despite all the deserved criticisms he got is the best guy in the team to run batters in. Belt is disapointing when it comes to power, RBI and speed but like the legendary Peter said "he gets on base". I like Merrifield higher in the lineup too. He might not have power but he gets the job done.

Seems kind of dumb for the pitcher to have the pitchcom thing on the wrist of his glove. Of course all the motion is going to dislodge it. I don't see why it shouldn't be restricted to your belt or something

Joe talks like the umps actually abide by that "the call on teh field stands unless there's incontrovertible proof it was wrong" replay mandate. instead of "the umps do whatever teh f*** they feel like in that moment because lol umps.
