Right now it’s not looking great. But let’s remember Varsho is only in his 2nd full season, so I would give him some time to figure it out. The talent is there. Gurriel was fairly redundant and was in the final year of his contract, so trading him was no big deal. Moreno, will probably be a good starting catcher, not great, but good.

Wait... so if the best defensive OF of our generation would have caught a ball, it makes it a "blunder" when someone doesn't catch it?

I think most competent outfielders would have caught at least one of those balls. Not defensive stalwart Varsho.

Did anyone say he had to turn into Ted Williams as opposed to, I don't know, just a good regular MLBer?

Though I guess if you can't refute a reasonable counterargument then you have to make up a ridiculous one.

The bottom line is that the jays would be a better team with Gurriel in LF and Moreno at C rather than Varsho and Kirk. Brutal asset management.

Varsho has a 79 OPS+. That’s not even major league calibre.

Even at present with struggles Kirk and Varsho is still better than Gurriel and Moreno

And that's not what the discussion was about. Follow along if you can:

Shane Falco says that the trade is just as much about the future as it is right now. You respond asking if anyone thinks he'll turn into Ted Williams, which isn't even just an exaggeration of the point, but a total misrepresentation. I point that fact out and suddenly we're not talking about the future but about how he sucks right now.

You're not even arguing a point because any time you make an assertion that gets countered you just shift directions to talk about something else.

The last two pitches were fastball one right in the middle of the plate and the other one inside (which is usually where left batters want their pitches to be located) and Belt looks at both pitches for strike.

I don't want to defend Vlad but he's not protected if i'm a pitcher i don't throw him good pitches since i would have 0 reason to.
 
You can’t help but think everyone’s job is in jeopardy at this point. Who would be safe with our biggest payroll in team history and a 500 team in last place. Ownership can’t be happy like any fan. Good thing they had the closed door meeting. Time for mattingly to take the reigns

Vladdy isn't putting in a full effort these days. This isn't the first time he's had issues with slacking.

Somebdy needs to hold him acountable and light a fire under his ass.... but hey when you are promoting fat acceptance on your roster I guess it's hard for anyyone to take you seriously.

I'm going to repeat myself. If you think after watching the sample size you've seen so far that the Toronto blue jays won the Moreno+Gurriel for Varsho trade then you are a low IQ individual.

I can flash numerous stats to support my case but you go ahead and keep drinking that kool aid.
