Vlad starts chasing when he's slumping. He needs to go back to making hitters come to him like he was doing at the start of the year.

The eye/discipline is absolutely there. We've all seen it.

Aw f*** Varsho almost had that. Just didn't have enough hop to grab it fully.

Vlad is never going to live up to expectations if he doesnt shake the bad habbits at the plate. Constantly swinging at bad pitches and rolling over everything is not gonna fly. 2021 looks like an outlier with every passing game.

His OPS was over .900 until he hurt his knee 2 weeks ago and it’s dived by like 80 points trying to play through it.

Ironically the position that we were the strongest at (catcher) and the position we sacrificed the most to address (LF) have been our 2 most disappointing positions this year to date. The Moreno and Gurriel loss hurts just because LF and Catcher is struggling, but over a full 162 it probably balances out.

There’s no balancing. Shatkins got completely hosed in the trade. Fire…them….now.

I've never seen that before...the same outfielder gets a chance to catch a home run two times in a row, both times having the ball landing in his glove and he just...doesn't close the glove right.

I thought Varsho was supposed to be this great outfielder.

This is like the fallacy of fielding errors. An actually crappy outfielder never even gets close to making those plays. Like he jumps and the ball sails over 3 feet to the right or well after he starts coming down from the leap. He looks terrible for almost/just failing to make a pair of great plays and because failure=shit play in some minds it looks worse than it is.

This is "Derek Jeter's a sure-handed shortstop" because he doesn't commit errors, ignoring that he doesn't commit errors because he never gets close to coming up with balls that are difficult enough to potentially lead to errors.

Bassitt getting blown up is totally because i thought to myself "i wonder if he keeps pitching well enough to force his way into Cy Young talks?" isn't it?

LF, sure, but Jays are getting top production from their catchers despite the lack of average, so that's being a little unfair.

Okay. This aggro baserunning shit needs to be reigned in.

Guys like Belt should not be having to try and leg out doubles/triples when they don't have the legs for it. Belt can't run, Kirk can't run. These guys should be allowed to take a single barring catastrophic fielding errors. At least a guy like Vlad can move for his size so i understand it. The rest though? Not so much.

This keeps happening too much. Belt was never fleet of foot even going back to his prime Giants seasons. WTF are we doing here?

Dude, if he hadn't TOUCHED that first ball, it wouldn't even be a home run.

Speaking of logical fallacies: where did I say he was a shit fielder? Don't lecture about fallacies if you're going to commit them yourself.

Blue Jays are still getting LF production thanks to Merrifield (bat) and Varsho (defence).

The first homerun bounced off Varsho’s glove, but you can’t just assume the second one needs to get caught. That isn’t an easy catch to make.

Once again, i'd like to see Gurriel try and make that play since people here are fawning over him so much.

I thought Schneider would be good but I'm not a fan. He's a fatter Montoyo that wants to be friends with everyone. Dumb decisions constantly
