Ironically the position that we were the strongest at (catcher) and the position we sacrificed the most to address (LF) have been our 2 most disappointing positions this year to date. The Moreno and Gurriel loss hurts just because LF and Catcher is struggling, but over a full 162 it probably balances out.

Definitely. In 2015, the Jays had a .500 record until the trade deadline.

The one thing different compared to last year is the division is much better.

Manoah is the biggest concern. He’s been awful since game 1 and there isn’t anyone to replace him.

This team doesn't have the hitters like they had in 2015. That lineup was much better.

Also no idea why we are comparing this Jays team to where other teams were last year in May. We are in the AL East, who cares what Minnesota, Cleveland and Angels did.

These are the teams they can beat and the reason they can occasionally get into a WC spot. But when they play in the gimmicky MLB playoff, they have difficult time competing.

No, but it also shows it's still relatively early in the season and they can turn it around.

it's still early. One thing baseball has is a long season....a very long season.

I think if they fix it as the season progresses consistently should be good.
It’s not early. This is the worst take ever. Also a reason why we missed a playoff spot by a 1 game. Please stop with this. It’s like saying… it’s ok to lose we can make it up later. Losing is never ok.

I can say with confidence that it wouldn’t be difficult to find a worse take through your post history.

The fan590 pregame was telling last night. First time I’ve listened to them this year but the two guys last night don’t believe the team is elite at any position and it’s not early.

My take away - They are are what they are and depending on injuries they’ll be somewhere around an 88-92 W team. Pretty good in my book.

Twins 26-25 1st AL Central
Jay's 27-25 5th AL east

Amazing. The fact that we still deciding playoff spots by division in 2023 is asinine

I still think this is a great team, and they will get hot for a stretch and finish with around 95 wins. They are severely underachieving and they should be right there with Tampa by the end of the season. There's tons of talent on this roster. They are definitely better than the Red Sox, Orioles, and Yanks. And they are definitely better than 27-25

I have a lot of takes but I’d say most are true

I’ve said all year:
Monaorch sucks. Can’t argue against
Belt a pos. He’s been better but still sucks
Kirk sucks. Can’t argue against
Jansen sucks. Can’t argue against
Biggio a pos. Straight facts
Bullpen sucks. Facts for a decade now

Not sure what else I’ve said but most my takes are correct.

Stay hot Bo. Him and KK the guys on the team who seem to do anything. Some real easy outs in this lineup.

Leadoff walk kill ya everytime. Awful pitching

Bichette has made 1 error in his last 44 games and made a great play to save a run there.

Or at least temporarily save a run. Ugh.

It's not early. it's 2 months in, roughly 1/3rd of the season.

I honestly can't believe how incapable some people are of understanding how baseball works. Jesus. They're 2.5 games out of the playoffs with 110 games left. A HUNDRED AND TEN.

It's absolutely early, but some people just seem to take whatever happened the last few games and extrapolate over the rest of the year.

Vladdy is 0-1 with a K dating back to his last plate appearance. Clearly he's going hitless with 400 Ks over the rest of the season.

A game in May has the same value as a game in September. Based on the way this team looks and is constructed, do you really think they're going to be playing meaningful baseball in October? You can point to Seattle being 21-28 at this time last season, but that was an outlier. More often than not, like last year when we got behind the Yanks, playing catch-up is a lot more difficult than being the forerunner. There are also alot of different factors this year making a comeback from 10.5 very difficult, e.g. less inter-divisional games. I say, get your shit together and stop accepting mediocrity because you think it's "early".

Guerrero hasn’t looked right at all since hurting his knee and you’d have to think they would have been better putting him on the 10 day IL instead of watching him limp to a .500 OPS over this stretch instead.

Vlad is never going to live up to expectations if he doesnt shake the bad habbits at the plate. Constantly swinging at bad pitches and rolling over everything is not gonna fly. 2021 looks like an outlier with every passing game.
