Can we find a freak magic injury for Bass? He needs to be DL'd to sort his crap out because he has unequivocally been the worst guy in the pen (and there are issues to point to with him like his decreased velocity and trash K/BB rates).

It could very well be that he went full pumpkin like most relievers eventually do, but he has enough history of being pretty good that he deserves the benefit of the doubt at least once to give him some time to figure himself out.

I wouldn't be opposed to moving Springer down for a bit. Even the best hitters will start forcing the issue when they're slumping.

Merrifield has a lot of the components needed to be a solid leadoff guy in theory. Speed, contact hitter, is pretty good at making the pitcher work.

I'm not worried about him long term though.

Can we please take Springer out of the leadoff spot until he remembers how to hit again. His brutal obp right now does not work at the leadoff. Mix it up

Awful game all around. Team definitely got hosed on bounces but they shit themselves defensively when they didn't.

Also unimpressed with Schneider's management in that game too. Manoah imploding isn't what cost them but he needed to come out of the game. Give him a batter or two to see if he can go? Fine with that, but after the wild pitch it should have been obvious.

Two blown games and a self immolation tonight. Not ideal.

two series losses in a row to two teams that were slumping thsmelves, thats never a good thing.

Lets just hope they can avoid the embarrassment of a 4 game sweep tomorrow.

They took 2 of 3 from the Mariners.

Losing to Boston is particularly painful, though.
