What he said was that Manoah has not been the same since getting beat up by Seattle, and that's carried over to this season thus far.

I agree with that.
I was replying to the other half of what the poster said. I disagree with the first part as well but that isn't what I was responding too.

At this point I would keep him in for 7 innings.

Game is nearly out of reach, and they have 14 straight days with games. Just wave bye bye to this game and save the relievers.
Looks like they are trying to save the pen for as long as they can as hes back out in the 5th.

White or if you're feeling gutsy, Pearson?

Those are basically your only two options with only the first one being realistic.
At this stage, does it matter? can't be much worse than Manoah has been this year. Send him down and let whoever in his place pitch.

Who replaces him? White is really the only option
When your starter walks 7, allow 6 hits and 2 HR in 4 innings - and the last few starts before that were not good - I don't think it matters.

What matters is getting Manoah back to being a functional pitcher at the MLB level without the pressure of a pennant race.

All I got from that Atkins interview is he really loves his team he put together. Don't think this game is even phasing him.

I agree. I would try White first.

Why would one game phase him?

I suppose in this context it doesn't matter. It'll likely be White since it just came over the broadcast Pearson was told he's exclusively a bullpen arm this year.

Starting pitcher and supposed ace or one of them is struggling badly this season having one of his worst games yet and showing no signs of recovery, as you said who will replace him?

Massive hole to fill. I guess I am just a bit more concerned about a few things he was asked about then ross atkins. Not expecting panic and I am not either, just sounded like he thought everything is going great.

Do you want him to be up there openly panicking or something? All any GM is going to do in that situation is express confidence that the player will figure it out.

Manoah is definitely a concern but what do you expect him to say? Our ace is a big concern so we need to go out and get a starter?

I edited my post before you posted because I knew someone would suggest that.

Was not saying that at all, lets not go to an extreme. I know on this board its hard to criticize management, I thought he just painted an extremely rosy picture of a good team, but with some issues and concerns to acknowledge.
