Lack of depth and question marks in the lineup seemed to have shifted throughout the offseason/season. Those question marks in the offseason were more like "Belt and Kiermaier are coming back from surgeries... are they really enough to bolster the lineup?"

Well sure enough they would have been if the Vladdy's, Kirk's, Springer's, Chappy's, and Bichette's continued to consistently hit like last year. The depth also got exposed because Biggio/Espinal/Jansen struggled hard early on. The Jays had the AAA guys raking all year but they were reluctant to make those moves. If anything the biggest issue in terms of depth is/was starting pitching. Luckily only Manoah has stunk and Ryu's been solid enough since coming back.
I was going to say the exact same thing. The one mistake was not bringing in a true masher but I think they expected a fair amount of power from Varsho and certainly more from Chapman. AAAA starting depth was the true weak point. But even with that I think they figured White would be that guy at the very least. They really do need to get better triple depth starters in the future.

My God they have just been on a terrible run in the last month or so.

Reverse that 4 game sweep against the Blue Jays and they would be out of it.
That’s what makes that series so frustrating for jays fans. Every team seem to be running wild against them and for some reason they came in and embarrassed the jays. It didn’t make sense.

They've literally beaten only us and Oakland in the last month.

What does Horwitz gotta do to get in the lineup? This would’ve been the perfect day with the short porch and a pitcher that struggles vs lefties.
