O

If they miss the playoffs I think Atkins likely is gone. Click being the replacement.

Change in hitting coaches needs to be made.
I don't think he will be though. Atkins and Shapiro to the Jays are like what Keefe and Dubas were to the Leafs. I don't think Shapiro has the heart to fire him much like Dubas was to Keefe.

The only difference between the pair is 1 is a president/GM combo and the other is a GM/coach combo.

I duno though. the ownership is paying $200M+ for this roster and if its gonna miss the playoffs, they may tell Shapiro a change needs to be made.

There is a bunch of potential money coming off the books, so they need to make sure they make proper replacements.

Isn't it pretty much guarantee Jays make postseason, because it doesn't matter who they play, it only matters who Texas, Seattle, and Houston play....

This is on Shapiro, they wanted to double down and go the defence route instead of the offense route.

And if you want to compete maybe not double down again on a rookie Manager, and instead get an experienced manager if your trying to compete.

Atkins is Shapiro's boy. He is not going nowhere. The only way Atkins goes is if Shapiro goes first.

Johnny boy and Martinez better be gone though.

I don't know, man. I have seen enough of Atkins. He can not build a true world series contender. I want to see what a new guy can do in the winter. We still have a good team, I just don't think Atkins will take it to the next level.

Well, they do lead the MLB in defensive runs saved and in ERA (prior to this series)

cool, still need to score runs to win.

I'm actually interested in what the totals for offense for Hernandez, Gurriel, and Moreno are for avg, hr, and rbis, compared to Varsho, Belt and KK.

I don't really blame Kikuchi or the other starters in this series...

The bats haven't helped them at all.

Pitching has carried them all year and the bats continue to be ice cold. Sad thing is we know next year the pitching will likely not be this caliber.. This was a rotation and bullpen that if we had mediocre hitting would be dangerous in the post season. Start planning ways to spend Ryu, Chapman, Merrifield and KK's money and whoever else we will lose from the bullpen. That frees up a good chunk to make some changes, trade any of Kirk, Espinal, Biggio and Manoah and try a new approach.... after management has been cleaned out. I reserve the right to take all this back if we somehow make the post season.

I don't think there is actually any reason to believe Shapiro will sink with the ship for Atkins. Like nothing we have seen leads me to believe that. Click is a very obvious internal option and Atkins leaving is a very obvious change if this goes tits up.

It's one thing to lose close games in a critical series, but we are getting smoked. Just sad. Really thought we were getting to the playoffs this year.

Looking ahead, Texas and Seattle play each other next weekend while we play the Rays at the Trop. We can make up some ground there, but it's the Rays at the Trop.

This pitching will not be replicated t next year. This was a completely blown season on an offence that never got going. I can’t remember an offence ever underperforming this badly. So much disappointment from top to bottom

Where is all the …..

Its still early
Relax, lots of time
It’s a long season

Remember all those. Ya, well that’s why this pos team will miss out. It’s a bs mentality.
Was definitely alot of all those, also criticism of vlad or Schneider was ridiculous, we're lucky to watch this team, or some stupid stat why so and so is actually good.

Nearly every game is a struggle and seems like the exact same issues. If the stats say this team is good then they're wrong, and reality is right.

Also what the hell is up with the hitting coaches?! Do they do anything?

How anyone can defend John Schneider, after he benched Davis Schneider for a whole week, after he had hit the HR against the Reds to win the game for the Jays, baffles my mind.

And even after they were blown out 7-0 by the O's mid week he still benched Schneider, that's just ridiculous.

Montgomery had over an 8 era in his last three starts. This offence is comically bad. You can’t even be mad anymore. Just a pathetic team.
