Yeah if these Manoah rumblings are true, then he comes across as a totally self entitled fool. I mean I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise for A guy who has his own name tattooed on himself.
Pretty crazy that within not even a year, he went from being the franchise's ace for years to come, to wondering if he perhaps ever pitches in a Blue Jays uniform again.

I'm not surprised to be honest. His actions on the field in 2022 yapping at opposition players were not good.

He had very promising start to his career. 2021 when he was called up, 2022 was amazing. He probably felt like he didn't need to work on anything or keep in shape to become a cy young winner.

Sportsnet didnt help by pumping his tires constantly, especially with that 6 part "obsessed" series.

The fall from grace was brutal. his response is even more brutal. It will be interesting what happens by next spring training, that's if he's still on this team.

Exactly, though I might correct myself and say most rather than just some. Consumer spending in general has dropped considerably due to soaring costs.
And wages have declined over the past three yrs, at least in the US.

Just looking on the Gametime app, you can get 4 tickets tonight for $48 US

Some could be interest. Once HS football starts, the weather changes and hockey gets going I lose interest in baseball until February. Im probably the only Jays fan that watches HS football, but I know a lot of Braves fans that are done with baseball now that college football season is here.

Man, need to win the next 3 some way somehow. I think a tie breaker is hugely important given how tight everything is. Imagine it coming down to that? I just want the Jays to be on the right end of it.
Please! I still say they can do some damage in the playoffs. They have the pitching, they have great D, some speed.....what's been missing is power

I'm the opposite, I'm only interested now because the games are meaningful.

So this isn't good

I wonder how much of his reaction is because his ass is going to go broke on an AAA salary after buying so many houses/cars etc. for his family on not a lot of career earnings. Earlier reports said that he was looking for an injury excuse so he could continue collecting his MLB salary.

So disappointing. Wow.

The last time I watched a playoff baseball game that I can recall it was Randy Johnson pitching for Arizona against the Yankees. I only remember it because where I was that night.
When the Jays made it 2015 their series wasnt on a channel that was available on DirecTV.

Is he even getting paid his minors salary now? If he hasn't reported, he hasn't played, and he isn't injured.

It's like a refusal to play, he should probably not be getting paid.

Shouldn’t they move Vladdy down? Big game and he goes 0-4 with 4 ks. I have been patient with him up to this point but enough is enough.

I’d go with (but I know they won’t):

Springer
Bo
DS
Biggio
Kirk
Vladdy
Horwitz
Varsho/Merrifield
KK
I’d swap Biggio and Kirk. Biggio hitting cleanup seems so wrong

That’s a real bad sign if true. I heard they worked on stuff and did testing which was why he didn’t report to Buffalo. This makes it sound like he refused the assignment. I wouldn’t be penciling him into any rotation next season if he’s refusing to do what’s needed to be a big leaguer. I mean this in the sense that I wouldn’t expect him to address any of his issues. I really hope there’s something else happening and I feel like this will become a narrative in the off season.

He's had a weird/disappointing season. But in his previous ten games he had a .391 OBP. He had only struck out 6 times in his previous 20 games. He has a 146 wRC+ in high leverage situations this year. I don't see who's actually a better option, and I don't think moving him down sends him any message that he isn't already aware of.
This is the actual issue. Springer was bad, Chapman was bad, like not much you could do because there wasn’t a clear replacement. But I do think it was needed. Even if it was for a game or two. Just a statement move. But he has been better of late but that’s because he’d cleaned out swinging at every slider down and out of the zone. He’s starting to swing at them a bunch again lately.

I hope he’s not getting anything. But at the very least he’s not earning a major league salary.

Yep Buck. Scherzer is in a playoff spot because he's prepared and a winner. And not because he signed with the trash bag mets and benefited from them dealing him to a team that was already in playoff position without him.
