I never thought I would say this, but it’s time to sit Guerrero for a bit.

This is starting to go beyond him just slumping and playing bad. He’s arguably not even an MLB calibre player right now.

Should've moved vladdy down the lineup awhile ago. JSchneider kinda sucks, atleast not very impressive at all. Hard to see this team making it anywhere if they do manage to get in.

Was going to watch this tonight when i got home but I wont bother, watched enough crappy jays games already this yr.

Verlander threw 8 innings and 87 pitches in his 2nd start back from tj at the age of 38 just last year

Paxton, 107 pitches in 2nd start back from tj at age 34 this year

Both of those guys missed essentially 2 full seasons and had an extra 6-8 months of recovery time.

Ryu has come back very quickly and they are being careful with him. And this will be coming from upper management and the medical team and wouldn’t even really be Schneider’s decision.

Verlander had surgery in October of 2020 which made 2021 a write off from the start, while Paxton suffered a lat tear after recovering from tjs which is what caused him to be out for almost 2 years

Once the arm is good enough to throw at an MLB level, it doesn’t get any stronger or more durable with additional time off

Ryu has had enough time since returning to be able to extend beyond 5 innings and 70ish pitches, and if management is taking it easy with a guy that is a free agent at the end of the season, a guy they have paid $80 mil to, then they are more concerned with being nice guys than winning at this point, and should all be canned at the end of the year

Rays have had 8 pitchers on their roster have tjs since 2020, including some of their best arms, and they are way ahead of us again because they care about winning, not protecting a player’s future earnings potential, especially a guy in his mid 30’s who has banked over $100 mil already in his career

He sucks.
Re watching the game when he came up to bat in the 4th with men on 2nd and 3rd . I said a strike or double play ball .
He it in to a double play.
His contract value is taking a huge hit.

Too bad we didn't have a middle reliever to come in and help out... Team has been a hot mess ever since the Bass demotion. I have not even made my way down to the park this year... Prob wont.

He's terrible right now.

At this point are we better with Vlad or Belt as our starting 1B? Vlad has not been clutch at the plate or good in the field. Belt has been average at the plate but much better in the field (+1 OAA) vs Vlad (-13 OAA). This is a case of reputation and future relationships (next contract negotiations) is trumping what is best for the team now.

Vlad is a better hitter, Belt is a better fielder and base runner. Based on performance neither should be the starting 1B on a playoff team, ergo one of many reasons why we are chasing a playoff spot.

Can the Jays go 16-10 and hit 90 W’s?

9 against TB and Bos makes it very tough. I can see them going 13 -10 before those last 3 against TB.

A little tired of Vladdy jogging down to first
Run it out man - make them rush a little more
At this point of their season they have to be focussed to win every pitch and every ball that’s in play.
Collectively they are lazy, lower IQ players and their record is indicative of who they are.

Typical Vladdy, disappears when you need him the most. Kiermeir has a higher WAR rating than this alleged star. I think you're right, sit him at this point for a game or two. I think even Biggio wouldn't have grounded out into two double plays. Btw, he tied for having hit into the most DP before age 25 in MLB history.

I think we have to get used to the fact he's just an average to slightly above average player who is not a star. And people complain about Matthews not showing up in big games?

Its at the point when Flop’s up with base loaded and one out you hope he either K or hits an infield fly.

His hits are like empty calories. He gets them in games we don't need them. For example, today he'll go 3-4, maybe hit a home run, but the team will have won the game 9-1. He needs to contribute in big moments, and I just don't think he does that enough.

He tied who? Because it looks like he’s 4th in GDP before age 25 behind Ted Simmons, Edgar Renteria, and Cal Ripken Jr… and we’re gonna act like that number is truly astonishing when he just surpassed Hank Aaron, Yaz, Miggy, and Al Kaline (just to name a few)?

Nonsense.

Hard to watch when they can't hit... or when they do they either blowout a team once in a blue moon or they all of a sudden can't pitch when they get runs... and pitching has been great. Probably the only thing all year that is usually good.

Been a subpar season for many players.

Hopefully they can put something together here in the stretch run.

Well this is wrong because he has the highest WPA on the team (yes higher than Bo) and is the second best on the team in “high leverage” situations (behind Jansen).

Vlad is not a better hitter lol. Belt leads the team with a 132 wRC+
