I looked through Fangraphs’ data and Simmons (94), Renteria (92), and Ripken Jr (92) are all ahead of him. Your response to my response is even more confusing because Vladdy’s been 24 this entire season.
Let's clear this up. I originally said before 25 but they made a typo in the article. Have yourself a read and you'll see you're wrong.

If you’re trying to use a stat to prove a player is bad and the list of guys with comparable stats is Hank Aaron/Al Simmons/Miguel Cabrera/Cal Ripken, perhaps the stat isn’t saying what you think it says.

This is the list of players through their age 24 seasons (before they turned 25).

Ripken putting up 32 GIDPs in his age 24 season after posting two MVP type years before that…

The stat implies he's played a lot of baseball by the age of 25, not that he's a comparable to Aaron or Cabrera.

Yeah but the opportunity cost of carrying a guy who is below average for multiple years becomes not worth it even if he does become an All-Star again later because his lack of production has cost (or contributed) us to miss the playoffs in one or multiple years. We would have been better off signing Freeman or trading for Olson or finding a different 1B that is top 5-10. This guy basically has to become a super star for it to be worth carrying him through these years of brutal production.

Guess you haven’t been noticing Texas’ recent demise?

Not winning anymore
Yes they are. When you’re up 3-0 in the first inning your gonna win unless your the jays.

If and when Texas wins and we lose here we are donzo baring a miracle

There was no chance they were going to trade Vladdy after his 2021 or even 2022 seasons. What’s the point of trading him now when his value is low? I’m sure any org would expect a bounce back considering how flukey of a year it’s been.

The current overreaction/hate toward Guerrero’s mediocre season is one of the most toxic things I’ve ever seen as a sports fan.
My opinion is that it isn't specifically Vlad; I'm pretty sure it's either the hitting coach or it's whoever is figuring out the team's plate approach. For all the whining about Vlad specifically, it's hard to miss that the team has a bunch of guys who a few years ago were known for their ability to get hits and are suddenly going up there looking to knock the ball into another zip code every at bat.

Basically, who told Vlad and Kirk and Varsho and even Bichette to a point that they need to think "HR or bust"? I'd be finding out and firing this person.

Yes.

The ‘most double plays by X age’ list is basically just a list of prodigious talents who broke into MLB at age 20. It doesn’t say much of anything about the player except that he broke into MLB young.

It’s more of a hindsight post rather than a critique on management. Vladdy hasn’t worked out. That’s on him.

Pull his lazy ass right now.

He has no idea what they’re playing for. None.

What is Vlad doing not running hard there? Frustrating player this season.

Imagine how absolutely clueless you have to be about the game of baseball to think a 2.5 game deficit with 25+ games left, including 4 against the team you're chasing, is insurmountable.

Also, the Rangers blew a 4-0 lead in the second once, but that was way back on Sept 2.

Turned on the game see the rookie get on get over to third and watch the vets back to back strike out on balls out of the zone so that’s enough for me game off again

I'm sad for the triple AAA squad. They are having a good game but the vets are letting them down. I'm not sure the "it's the players fault" excuse will be valid at the end of the season. After all someone has put those vets on the field and someone is coaching them.

In Varsho’s defence, he laid off of the high fastball and the ump still called ball 4 a strike so he had to chase and expand up there.
Still got to defend on this. Just try to touch the ball a bit it's doable many hitters are doing it. It's not like he was fooled by the pitch he just missed it.
