Just gotta keep guttin it out. Just keep hoping things will click for this team. The kids are doing their part. Maybe just maybe everyone will get hot just at the right time.

On a side note Orelvis looking real good in Buffalo.
It’s crazy that all 3 AAA guys Schneider, Clement and Horwitz all have an OPS over 1.100 and although it’s a small sample size collectively it’s over 100 AB’s. I almost want to put Varsho at catcher just to get Horwitz’s bat in at LF more

What's nice for the Jays, is Horwitz can replace Belt, Schneider can replace KK or Whit, and that only leaves a replacement for one of Whit/KK and Chapman. Makes their job a hell of a lot easier.

It would be best for him to start in AAA. Helps his development and also gives the Jays some good depth.
Yep. Still in his age 21 season with some holes in his swing, although much improved this season.

Start him at AAA and see if he can Davis Schneider his way onto the roster. Barger too, hopefully the arm is not going to be a long term issue.

Keep saying that Horwitz looks and plays like a poor man's Don Mattingly.

If Yankees hold on here, we're going to be 1.5 games back of both Texas and Houston. They will be playing each other next, while we play Oakland. Could be back in a playoff spot by the weekend!
I’m Watching LSWho and FSU and keeping an eye on the score.…….getting back into college football this year.

The Jays would actually be in a position where a sweep of Oakland guarantees they're in a playoff spot after the series.

Don't blow this, Yankees.

I was thinking more of an Olerud-like profile... less HR power and more walks than Mattingly. But man, that was some serious easy power on his HR tonight.
I think I saw a Tweet that compared his statistical profile to Lyle Overbay. That would be pretty good value assuming he doesn't fall off the cliff like Lyle did after a few good seasons.

That's a good one too, and probably a more reasonable comp since Overbay himself was a poor man's Olerud.

A few seasons of OBP-driven ~115 wRC+ would be fantastic.

Yup - that was out of any park easily.

When Mattingly came up, he came up with a line drive singles/doubles spray profile, and not much power.

The short porch at Yankee Stadium helped him as much as his tapping into his in game power. Which was mostly a function of trying to turn on the ball and pull it.

Did you see the Virginia Tech entrance to "Enter Sandman"? Chills.

Yanks up by five. Just looking at the Astros lineup, and it's an excellent top 5 but really drops after that.

I think their offense is fine. Brantley is back now and they need to play Diaz (125 wRC+) over Maldonado (58 wRC+) full time

The bigger concern is their pitching, mainly Javier being a potato all year (finally had a decent outing tonight). Verlander and Valdez are fine, but they need Brown and/or Javier to step up

The law firm of Spencer Horowitz LLP contributing just as I hoped/expected.

That little firm is going to bought out soon by the firm of Babip, Pecota, Vorp, and Eckstein

And maybe Barger/Martinez replaces Chapman. Maybe even Clement can be a 3B option. The thing the Jays will need is a big bat for LF imo, and quality over quantity.

1. RF - Springer
2. SS - Bichette
3. LF - ??
4. 1B - Gurrerro
5. 2B - Schneider
6. DH - Horwitz
7. CA - Jansen
8. 3B - Barger/Martinez/Clement
9. CF - Varsho

I jumped the gun on that. Missed Diaz because he was on the bench and forgot about Brantley.
