NHL should find away to incorporate this every few years along with a Sweden Finland best of seven and maybe even a Russia Czechia best of 7. All going on at the same time so it would only take 2 weeks. Nobody gets to say they’re world champion but players wouldn’t care too much about that cause most other years they’d be able to play for a world title in an nhl ran tournament or the Olympics.
 
It would be incredibly disruptive and dangerous for the athletes. The best players in the world trying to injure each other.

It would also pretty much be the greatest sporting event of all time and we would all riveted to it within seconds of puckdrop. The players would all say it was the most important thing they've ever done and that the Stanley Cup is unimportant in comparison.

So you decide.

The amount of injuries and rest the players would need would be gargatuan. If they were to do it. It would have to be in the early summer. Each player would need a good 2-3 weeks to recover

I voted yes - because I would LOVE to see it.

Logically speaking though - it'll never happen. For a lot of reasons:

1. What about the other countries?

2. When, during season? Too disruptive

3. Risk of injury would be huge

Stole the words right outta my mouth. The entertainment factor would be off the charts. but logistically you could only do this in the offseason if it was strictly a series between these 2 and not a tournament between the other nations too. And yeah, the risk of injury would be high for how heated this would get.

A possible compromise is having a best of 3 final in future WCH, like 1996. Though the NHL holding it in the middle of the season as oppose to the offseason makes that less feasible.
 
Honestly in the current political climate I kind of wouldn't. Would love to see the hockey but too much other geopolitical stuff going on. We can wait and have this series later.

FWIW, as an American I'm glad Canada won

Or you can not associate hockey with politics and just enjoy the game?

I expressed my opinion. You can disagree.

I do agree this site could use downvotes. Hopefully that functionality gets added someday (hopefully soon)
