I'd like to have KK and Whit back. It's not like they are going to be that expensive.
I'd try to get a bigger bat then either of those guys like Bellinger or even Hernandez in free agency. Or try and trade for someone like Suzuki or Lane Thomas. But if they can't do that then I'm down to bring back Kiermaier and/or Whit.

I'd take this version of KK anytime. Best at his position, and best at where he is in the lineup.
I really like Kiermaier. I’m not against running back a Varsho/Whit-Kk/Varsho-Springer outfield again, it’s just with Varsho being so similar to KK I’d put Varsho at CF and aim for a little more offence in the outfield, specifically LF if we can find it.

Massive week coming up. Gotta sweep Oakland, Texas plays Houston and both are 1.5 games ahead could very well be in a playoff spot at the end of this series. You then go home and put the boots to KC to solidify the playoff spot and then try to survive the last stretch… it’s going to be a wild, rollercoaster next few weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it comes down to the last day again just like in 2020.

Gotta think we as fans should cheer for Houston in this series. We couod take over the 3rd WC spot and add in we still have 4 games against Texas which could really cement a lead we have. Plus Houston has a pretty soft schedule to finish the year

I agree. Need houston to win this series. Then its really up to the jays to decide if they want a playoff spot or not.

What's nice for the Jays, is Horwitz can replace Belt, Schneider can replace KK or Whit, and that only leaves a replacement for one of Whit/KK and Chapman. Makes their job a hell of a lot easier.
And on the surface saves $$$ for other acquisitions. But who knows if these kids are the real deal. Would sure be nice though.

what do you think the chances we go in to next season hoping martinez/barger/ect can platoon at third and hope someone takes the reigns.

i love chapman but someone is going to pay too much,

or do you try and get a stop gap like urshella or anderson until you deem the kids ready

Don’t want to bring a Chapman back. I’m thinking he crumbled under the pressure knowing he’s playing for that huge payday so once he gets paid maybe he goes back up some in production but I just don’t think he’s going to age well with a huge contract. Only way I want him back is on a short deal I don’t see him entertaining.

I didn’t realize he actually ended up having a decent season with more power than any blue Jay lol. Same goes for Teo but I was happy they tried a new direction. Just didn’t expect zero power from Varsho. He and Vladdy really disappointed with power

That's why Orelvis should be up here already getting is feet wet and allowing us to see if we can run with him or if we need to look for someone.

I think a stop gap is the best option. I don't think the young guys like Barger or Martinez could handle 3B defensively.

I get it but at the same time we’ve seen some critical miscues already from Schneider/Clement defensively. Don’t think the Jays can afford to play with too much fire on the defensive side down the stretch.

McCoy can handle SS Martinez can't. He can't even handle 3B well from what I have read.

You have Epsinal and Clement at SS

Schneider and Orelvis could have worked at 3B.

We have so much versatility right now that the 1 inning a week McCoy is going to get is meaningless to the argument.

You can do both. No reason for McCoy over Orelvis

Dawg, McCoy is literally only here as a pinch runner and late-inning defensive sub at SS if we're up big. Orelvis is neither fast nor known to provide defensive value. And either way, it makes no sense to bring him up and not give him at-bats when he can continue hitting in AAA. McCoy isn't here to gather at-bats.
