How about Sakic?

Fleeces the Habs out of two picks and a middle prospect, then turns around and uses the lesser of the two picks (37th) to grab Ross Colton from Tampa. I would much rather have Colton at that price, who is well over 50% on draws and brings a physical element, over Newhook.

Are you aware of roster limits or have you been ignoring the absolute pile of prospects we’ve accumulated?

In order to claim it’s a fleecing you’d also have to have knowledge on Alex Newhook.

How many games of his have you seen?

I'm reading a lot about Michkov and where there is smoke there is fire, because why would so many teams red flag him ?

So like Caufield ? So many passed on him.

I'm not saying the numerous concerns on Michkov aren't valid, but just don't accept it as being the truth because of the reports.

We pay money to our own scouts. Until proven otherwise we need to trust them. Though I'm concerned about Hughes and the " can he play in this market " stuff.

They need to nail the pick though. Can't miss on high picks.

Trading 5 for 7+22 to pass on Michkov is the equivalent of going to a bar and seeing a hot chick that keeps looking at you, but instead of going up to talk to her, you get scared of being rejected and then your douchey fboy friend goes up to her and they leave the bar in 10 minutes to go back to her place while you order another outrageously expensive drink with a mandatory 30% tip option telling yourself you're unlucky.
Well
I'm not thrilled with how strangely accurate this is lol
But picking someone at 5 and no one til 69, it could be worse than 7 and 22 too

What Blue Jackets do could be the big factor
They will pick a C... not sure that do much to the draft board.
Ana at 2 or SJ at 4 going with Mitchkov is a factor... but CHI and CBJ pick are the less impactful ones

As soon as Smith/Carlsson are off the board, I expect to hear Bettman's weasly voice

"We have a trade to announce.. Mont-ree-all trades pick number 5"
Before that though....he's gonna walk up to cascading boos, and like clockwork will say...."I think you're going to want to hear what I have to say"

"We have a trade to announce.. Mont-ree-all trades pick number 5"

"to the Nashville Predators for the 15th overall pick, Yaroslav Askarov and Zachary L'Heureux"

"Nashville you are on the clock"

I think they'll take one of the centers in either Smith or Carlsson and SJ will take whichever one is left so still the same top 4 just in a different order. At the Habs 5th pick is when the draft really starts IMO.

I can picture it in my head. Thanks I hate it.

Only question is, who’s going to be uncontrollably shaking more during the trade announcement?

Gary or the seething hf habs Michokovian cultists?

And on the flipside of that. I wonder if the rumored 5 offers the Habs apparently have on the table from teams looking to move up to 5th want to get there to take Michkov if he's there.

Ok say we're getting Leonard/Reinbacher in a trade down to 7... Who do we want at 22nd?

A faller amongst Yager/Honzek/Sale/Musty/Ritchie?

I'll also add Ethan Gauthier there, too. Plays a real feisty style of game and can produce. He can be one of those "hell to play against" types.
