On draftkings Leonard, Michkov and Reinbacher are now all tied, this morning they had Leonard favorite.

But for 2nd overall Michkov went from +3200 to +400, Fantilli is still heavy favorite but that's a massive jump

Michkov goes second then we either get Carlsson or Smith, hopefully we can trade for Carlsson and we're done

Imagine, somehow Fantilli is there at 5 as well as Smith (because someone went off script and picked Leonard or Reinbacher or Benson).

For anyone not aware, TVA Sports will start their pregame coverage at 5:30PM ET. And I tend to watch the French coverage because they do have a more Habs-centric broadcast. Their cameras are always on the Habs table. They follow Hughes around if he starts visiting other teams' tables (I remember last year on Day 2 of the draft, he went to see Hextall at the Pens' table and then went to see Fitzgerald at the Devils' table).

And obviously, they will most likely have news and rumors on the Habs before others.
They’ll talk for hours about les petits gars de chez nous.

Even though no bookie has Michkov as a clear favourite for any pick in the top 5, I’ve noticed his “draft position” prop has been trending towards him being favoured to be under 5.5 (basically meaning he would be taken top 5). Last night/earlier today most bookies had the over favoured (meaning he wouldn’t go top 5). Whether it’s Anaheim, SJS, Montreal, or a trade down I really think he goes top 5.

If Carlsson drops all the way to 5 he must’ve had a ton of character issues. Am I right to think so?

Like Michkov right?
Pundits have been saying that player grades were all over the map after Bedard and Fantilli. I’d look at it like everyone has a favourite ice cream. But you may very well be correct on your assessment

Once you have Newhook in tow you don’t look for more. Besides if a prospect falls to 5 he must be red flag city.
Oh you,

I actually don't think of any of the players have red flags tbh, I think that they all have positive and negative traits

I don’t believe in these sorts character assassinations of teenagers I was simply illustrating how silly it is to hold this against Michkov.

The top5 is great! They’re all terrific prospects! They’re all better than last years top5!

Friedman and Seravalli both said on their podcasts this morning that Pat Verbeek is the type to not give a f*** and draft who he thinks is best and not let any outside noise impact what he decides.

They didn’t say the Ducks taking him was probable or likely but both wondered if he just might do it.

stop with the non sense man, Carlsson is a stud of a player and human

If we get Carlsson we have a sure fire, hard to miss, legit no1 Center. This guy might have a better career than Koivu if he plays with us.

I don't think character issues. His skating is far from elite and there are some questions regarding his compete level. Very high hockey IQ though. Most Swedes are low maintenance when it comes to character issues.

I personally see Bedard as clearcut #1, Fantilli clearcut #2 and then it opens up some. I wouldn't be completely surprised to see one of Leonard, Reinbacher or Dvorsky go ahead of one of the consensus top 5 players. After months of NHL teams sandbagging, there are usually a couple of surprises.
