Roy is a beauty, not enough people are talking about him. He and Hutson seem to be that "steal" type outside the 1st we haven't had since Subban. I think Leonard can do everything Roy can with more physicality and way better skating. Production might not be a big difference, but the impact will be.

I mean I wouldn't be surprised if Roy ends up being a top 15-20 player in his draft class. I think Leonard will be top 10 because of some of the players you mentioned along with some crazy good late steals. He is a good player.

No, the 5th has max value before the second pick is made. Once the show is on, any of the interested teams could withdraw their offer if they see someone they like falling.

With that said, how do you justify picking him ahead of Reinbacher? Is a 1D all situation type worth 1 full potential Leonard? Whos the last winger to be traded for a 1D?

If the choice is between Leonard and Reinbacher you 100% go with Reinbacher imo. Leonard is a nice consolation prize though in case Reinbacher is already taken. I hope we don't draft Benson personally.

So if Smith is gone by 5, I fully expect a trade down as well
