Brett Mirwald (Vancouver, WHL) and Michael Simpson (London, OHL) are the two biggest names left.

F - Zacharie Giroux (Sudbury, OHL) to Ottawa
Simpson signed with Belleville in the AHL a couple of weeks ago. Your correct, Mirwald is not official, but hockeyinsiderusports had him committed to a school out west as far back as March or April. He's usually pretty accurate.

Ahh yes, forgot about the Mirwald rumour…I was thinking Palmer, who I believe has committed to Alberta. So yeah, pickings are slim now.

Aus Fan, we will give you credit for Leaver as well! You called that one in March. X has done a good job re-tooling their defense over the last 2 years. The two names missing are are really big omissions. They may resurface later.

Talked to Brad during our playoff round last year, he had told us back then that he would be back on the bench this year.

Cole Stewart, transfer from Nipissing to SFX. He bounced around the Q and MHL and did 3 years at Nipissing. His PiMs were higher than his point total most years.

Add 2 more to SFX:

Colby Saganiuk, Sioux City (posted 2 weeks ago) and Alex Christopolous, Saginaw Spirit.

By my math, that's 9 recruits to SFX.

What is the probability that Ryan is Matt Struthers' brother. They're both from Milton.

Would make sense. He's from Freddy.
I thought that also on Struthers, but Elite Prospects has Matt born in London. Just did a Google (which I should have done yesterday) and found an article from Ice Dogs where they mentioned Ryan and his brother, Matt. So, there you have it.

10 new recruits to be exact.

Certainly seems like a rebuilding year for the X-Men. Some nice recruits in there but hard to see how they are better than last year after losing over 60% of their offence this summer. They didn’t add a single impact forward over the previous two years to supplement that really good 2021 group of Hawel/Struthers/Hudson/Nelson/Phillip/Trott and I think it caught up to them this year with losing so many of their top scorers all at once.

I’m curious to see what SMU does…their whole team is in their 3rd year of eligibility or younger. I know they lost MacPherson, but anyone else?

I think we can all agree they are more talented than their results last season indicated, so if they can add a few impact guys I think they will be a legit University Cup contender.

Flower went to Europe. They haven't added any impact guys.
