I think fewer than that!
Atlee Calvert, Gabe Klassen and Jack Beck -Wilkes-Barre Penguins( AHL)
Justin Gill with Bridgeport ( AHL).
Israel Mianscum- Laval.
Mayer signed with Henderson (AHL)
Sharpe with the Marlies ( AHL).
Sward was at the Winnipeg Jets Development camp with newly recruited UNB forward Cole Huckins.

Based on production only, I think most of the remaining players on this list will sign some form of pro contract.
D Sam Sedley now off the board…to Lehigh Valley of the AHL

University of Alberta Golden Bears GM Stan Marple and Head Coach Ian Herbers were in studio on "Oilers Now" on Wednesday...

After an underwhelming 2023-24 season... Alberta has reinforced with a strong recruiting class.

The team will have 9 WHL graduates back at forward, 4 WHL graduates back on D and their #1 goalie returns as well.

Alberta's top 7 scoring players from last season have returned.

Mid-season recruits Aidan De La Gorgendiere (D, 12-53-65/65 with Saskatoon/WHL in 2022-23) and Connor McLennon (F, 46-46-92/64/+51 with Winnipeg/WHL in 2022-23) are expected to play a bigger role right from the get go.

Alberta has added.

Goaltender:

Ty Palmer. A #1 goalie in the WHL the last 3 seasons , Palmer went 30-9-7 with a .907 SVP last season in Everett.

Defenceman:

Marc Lajoie. Son of 1992-93 CIAU Player of the Year and Former Alberta Head Coach Serge Lajoie.
Lajoie had a stellar 20 year old season in the WHL with Edmonton as the 6'6" left D registered 26-32-58/68/+3 on a team that had a -71 goal differential. Lajoie will attend the Edmonton Oilers Rookie Camp in Penticton.
Parker Berge. A 6'1" skilled right shot D Berge had 13-48-61 in 66 GP in the WHL season, he is likely headed to a Rookie camp too.
Elias Carmichael. A 6'3" left D had 6-23-29/62 GP in Kelowna in 2022-23, played in Red Deer last season.
Chase Leslie. Played parts of three seasons in Red Deer. Character depth D/FWD

Forwards:

Sean Tschigerl. Anaheim Draft Choice. Skilled playmaking forward had 27-35-62/63 GP last season with Calgary/Lethbridge.
Ty Nash. Son of NHL'er Tyson Nash. Had 21-35-56 in 50 GP with Edmonton last season in the WHL.
Tyson Laventure. A 6'3", 200 pound RW had 31-36-67 in 64 GP last season in the WHL with Swift Current and Victoria.
Sam Popowich. Won a WHL Title with Seattle in 2022-23. Had 15-26-41/57 last season in Seattle. Right-shot center. PK and Faceoff Specialist.

Marple also mentioned Brett Hyland who will attend Hershey's (Washington's AHL Affiliate) Training Camp. Hyland had 32-27-59/68 GP with Brnadon last season.

EDIT - Looks like Bob beat me to the punch.

Alberta Recruits

G - Ty Palmer
D - Parker Berge (going to LA's camp)
D - Marc Lajoie (going to Edmonton's camp)
D - Elias Carmichael
D - Chase Leslie
F - Tyson Laventure
F - Sean Tschigerl (Anaheim draft pick)
F - Ty Nash
F - Sam Popowich
F - Vincent Lamanna
F - Brett Hyland (Washington 2023 draft pick, going to Bears camp, but signed a one year AHL deal with Hershey last month so sounds like he might give pro a try first)

Really good recruiting class for the Bears with a top goalie, the two highest scoring overage defencemen committed to a U Sports team to date, and three point per game forwards in Laventure/Tschigerl/Nash. Carmichael and Popowich also have loads of WHL experience.

With nine forwards and five defenceman returning with WHL experience (plus Ethan Kruger in net) it looks like the Bears depth will be significantly improved this season. They should be able to ice an entire line-up of former CHL players once again, something we surprisingly didn't see much the last year or two.

Acadia pick up Cameron Wiebe, a transfer from UofA.

Wiebe's resume is the least likely for the UofA since Cory Cross. Wiebe didn't even sniff Jr. A, and the CapJHL he played one season in is a Tier 4 league weak by Jr B standards.

I looked at his stats and they don't fit UofA standards. But, he's playing CIS hockey. Many people haven't done that. He's a warm body for Acadia, so I have no issue with that.

That's a big class - it's also a lot of guys in the stands  . Must be nice not to have a 'cap'.

Odd....I thought I saw a posting "somewhere" this afternoon that former Acadie-Bathurst Titan Robert Orr is heading to PEI. Now I can't find it anywhere. So let's call it a rumor.

Cormier had a great Q career, but his teammate Max Pellerin may be considered a better fit for a lot of USports teams, including UQTR, Moncton and UNB. I would be surprised if he didn't go pro!
Pellerin is playing for McGill, who have put together one of the strongest recruiting class in the country this summer. Their incoming players are all former QMJHL players and include:

F - Charles Boutin (77 points last season)
F - Maxime Pellerin (73)
F - Alexis Morin (57)
D - Charle Truchon (46)
D - Mathis Gauthier (35)
D - Igor Mburanumwe (21)
D - Xavier Bouchard (played pro the last couple seasons, including stints in the AHL)

With Ottawa hosting the University Cup, we could easily see Ottawa, McGill AND UQTR in the University Cup. It's going to be a Titanic battle between those three team for the OUA East title.
