I liked Greer. He worked hard and was proud to be a Bruin. I don't see it as a favor as he would be good depth if there were injuries but it is a loss that the Bruins can probably afford. Glad he didn't go to the Habs.

Greer was a nice guy, he played hard, but really was a guy who is a 14-17th best forward on a team. I wish him well in his next stop but don't think I will ever miss having him on the ice

Wish we could give Greer’s effort to some of the players, his skill just didn’t match his heart. He does obviously have some value as he didn’t get through waivers like the rest

Brown no surprise got through.

Don’t want to start a huge debate on the issue and I truly don’t care about differing opinions on the subject, but I’ll say this…

I am far more comfortable with Poitras making it with Lucic here, than I would be if he wasn’t.

Honestly it might not make them better this year but I am all in for watching these young guys play even through the struggles.

The fact that there's 2 rookie centers on the team is certainly a pleasant surprise

I'm very pleasantly surprised, too. There might even be room for Mason.

The thing for me is that, at best, this is a transitional season, so why not take a calculated risk with these three and see what you have? Boring and safe isn't going to get them very far regardless. Which is why, although he's a serviceable extra forward, many of us don't want Heinen as a regular positional player.

I'm excited to see the development of Boston's young players, and their development begins now.

It will be the most intriguing, and hopefully entertaining, aspect of the coming season.

Yes there will be growing pains, but the future is suddenly a bit brighter,

Sweeney has been trying all summer long to trade Gryz or Forbort. Maybe he’ll have some luck today.

You can't ask Lucic to be your sole policeman. He will be an excellent example to all per looking out for his teammates, young and old. He can lead in that department, and help others realize that team toughness is not about one guy. It's "All for one, one for all," and it's there on a nightly basis, not once in a while.

I don't see teams taking liberties with our rookies this season.

I have every expectation the Bruins will be "hard to play against," tenacious, and more physical than they've been in years. It will take time to build team wide physicality, but I hope that's the direction the Bruins will go in as they transition from one era to another.

Physical intimidation, size and a "heavy game" are not everything, but these qualities matter and the playoffs consistently demonstrate this. Rather than get pushed around, I hope the Bruins will do the pushing going forward.

Since 5pm has come and gone, what does that mean for Lorhei and the roster?
