I’m running under the assumption that zetterlund is gone (I could be wrong) but losing zetterlund and holtz would be a sizeable hit to the forward pool

Yes because getting tossed in and out of the lineup playing with Boqvist and McLeod as his centers was certainly putting him in a spot where he could work out.

You’re also likely bumping Yegor out of the top 6 at that point so you’re essentially losing another guy. Yegor in a bottom 6 role is a whole lot of nothing.

I think that Boqvist leaves a lot to be desired but both him and McLeod have done ten times more to warrant the playing time, Holtz didn't. If you're saying that NHL prospects should get ice time (especially on the top lines) for free, then I disagree with that, especially when we're no longer in the purely development phase. Giving Holtz ice time for free, while he's playing like that, would send an awful message to the rest of the team.

34 pages in one day is pretty crazy when nothing has really happened. I suspect if we want to make this move we'll do it before our road trip on Wednesday, but you know that requires both teams to agree. Making trades when we're in Anaheim on Friday is not ideal for playing that game.

Use him on a very good 3rd line option. Same with Shara if there is no room for Shara ina spot that utilizes him correctly. We can always use Holtz and or Shara and get a good young high value contract player for our bottom 6 and add another pick along with it possibly

They didn’t give him a chance to start the year either. Has him there all camp only to drop him for game 1. He responds by playing a really good game. They respond by playing him 9 minutes and under 6 the following 2 games. He was never given a chance

Honestly at this point I'm fine with any information, true or not.

It's like fishing for a couple hours without a single bite. Getting snagged on a rock feels good, even if you know that it's just a rock and you are now about to lose your lure, that brief bit of excitement thinking "maybe," is still a nice break from the boring.

IIRC he got the last 2 games of last season there and those are like 2 of the only games he’s ever gotten in the top 6. He was also absolute garbage last year whereas this year I think he’s looked much better than he did

While I think he was jerked around too much (same with Zetterlund), top 6 ice time is earned. Holtz doesn't get to play because he hasn't been effective enough in a bottom 6 role to stick and he's not as good in the top 6 as anyone we currently have there.
