GDT: 2023 Trade Deadline

Oh god, he almost looks like John Chayka if you gave Chayka a 20 year age progression lol.

I didn't really know what he looked like and I saw that and the Coyotes logo and thought it was Chayka, before realizing ''Damn! Chayka never looked anywhere near that old?''.
Armstrong looks like the main villain in Bond movie. At least the main villain in the next season in Peaky Blinders.
Chayka looks like another seller of classes of success and techniques for guaranteed business ideas. Who he actually is.

Feel bad for the Canadian TV crews who'll have to stretch out their coverage tomorrow. Of the remaining sellers:

DET: Sundqvist, Zadina (maybe more of an offseason deal)
MON: Drouin (unlikely), Edmundson (signed for next year)

PHI: Hayes (unlikely), Provorov (unlikely)
CLB: Roslovic

NSH: Barrie, Fabbro
STL: Parayko (unlikely), Krug (NTC)
ARZ: Schmaltz, Ritchie
CHI: Domi, Athanasiou

VAN: Boeser, Miller, Garland
SJS: Bonino, Reimer
ANA: Klingberg, Kulikov, Shattenkirk, Henrique (injured)

And perhaps mix in a team like Seattle who could trade Carson Soucy to open up cap space elsewhere.

The best deals that happen are usually hockey trades that you dont expect.

Mantha for Vrana* and Fiala for Granlund come to mind from past couple years.

*had others involved too but still

I wonder if there is anything left worth doing? Seems like Henrique and maybe minor league depth that can be called up in an emergency?

What else is even left out there?

I know this was posted earlier, but is there any reason not to think Holtz is a very likely name here?

The thing with Arizona is I don't feel they are doing anything wrong by being a cap launderer while keeping expenses down since they are flat broke without an arena.

It's just a bad look for the league as a whole to have a franchise in this state of poverty. Arena should help that but who knows for sure? This is a franchise that has only gotten out of the 1st round once and has never felt like they were turning a corner.

I assume public funds are being used in the new arena deal and I do think it's really difficult to ask anyone in that area to fund a new building for this team right now.

If Armstrong can turn it around then that's good for the league, but let's see it happen first as this team has been selling for what feels like a decade.

If i lived in Tempe, I would be hard pressed to vote yes on this proposal.

Doesn’t make much sense to me because the Devils have minimal cap room to add anyone.

Even if there was like double retention, I don’t see much on Vancouver’s roster worth Holtz. Demko (who has sucked this year)?

My guess is Vancouver is looking more at someone like Kravtsov again who won’t cost much.

Who would we even be targeting on Vancouver though? The ship has sailed on guys like Boeser and Garland, we can't afford them anymore. I don't think any of their other forwards make sense as the type of third line depth we're looking for, and none of their defensemen are enticing either.

Not seeing a fit with them.
