No doubt. It's tremendous. But he's got five inches and thirty pounds on Bedard. It should be. It's pure athleticism.

Bedard is a total freak. He's not the physical specimen that Ovechkin or Matthews is. That's why I brought up Sakic and Semin. Those three can fire absolute piss missiles despite their size. Bossy comparisons are fair.

Ovechkin is the greatest goal scorer I've ever seen. He turned from Pavel Bure his first seven years in the league into a pretty stationary howitzer his last seven years in the league and is scoring at the same exact pace. He's a total freak. He's scoring at .61 gpg from 19-27 as he is from 31-38. That doesn't happen. It's why he might break Gretzky's record. He's an absolute anomaly. It's not a slight towards Matthews. He's had wrist issues and has missed more games to injury than Ovi has despite being a decade younger. Both are incredible talents.

I'm not pumping Bedard's tires before he's entered the league because I'm a homer. He's just that gifted a talent. It's absurd what he can do with the puck on his stick. He drops his shoulder releases a rocket and it's a goal. Crosby was a physical freak. He saw the ice different. Bedard can score at an all time level. His release is absurd. He's not just an incredible prospect. He's special.
I was more so just commenting on Matthews’ shot not really being all that similar to Ovechkin’s. Ovi overpowers goaltenders like you described, but the way Matthews scores goals is quite similar to the way Bedard will. Matthews’ shot is a bit heavier than bedards due to the size advantage, but both shots are absolutely built around the release

Goalies gonna have to Invent " the Wing-style or Crane-style " to stop Bedard...
Opposite of Butterfly... Goalies will stand tall and Place Glove and blocker in Top corners...pray he doesn't shoot low.

does the kid have enough pull to force himself into game 2 or does the staff shut him down against his desire...we shall see

Words last night was that he was sitting the game out today...I hope he sits because it's too risky having him play against goons like that Loof clown last night.

I knew there was a game - I was just moaning about the lack of info being put out by the club or beat writers.

That link doesn't work but I'll take your word for it - give the two best players in yesterday's game the day off.
Looks like they deleted the tweet

This will be more of a test----Minny's got some awfully good prospects.

I get not having Bedard and Kaiser for today, but I'm still disappointed.

Preseason games still feel like they're so far away...

I hope Korchinski plays as little as possible too. And Bedard and Kaiser are likely on the main team this season so that's the thought process of them not playing and risking injury.

Here's to no injuries today (looking at you Colton Dach and Paul Ludwinski).
