WJC: 2023 Team Canada Roster Talk Part 2

I know you guys have a strong roster, but it would be insane to cut a talent like Fantilli. He's not even an underager.

Here is the list of Canadian forwards I would take over Fantilli for this tournament:

He's on top of the list for sure but I would take Stankoven and Guenther ahead of him as well. Stankoven was Canada 2nd best forward behind McTavish this summer.

I think Stankoven and Guenther are clearly ahead of Fantilli for this tournament. Wright too, but I know your opinion of him.

I like Stankoven a lot, and Guenther has shown talent. But I think Fantilli is every bit as talented offensively while bringing more size and physicality.

Something I mentioned on here before was that in my initial viewing of Fantilli (the U18's), he showed very questionable decision making. Hockey IQ definitely has to be factored in to the player ratings here, but obviously Fantilli has a tremendous upside which makes it worth the risk.

It seems like they're going with the 19 yo players for depth roster spots.

Outside for the obvious stars (Fantilli, Bedard and Wright), it's a 19 yo tournament.

Canada is gonna load up on 19 year olds it seems with the Dumais and Beck cuts. Their team is gonna be pretty green going to Sweden next year

Well if Kidney is injured he' probably cut along with Bolduc and Dumais.

Anyone find this weird/funny/telling that this isn't plastered on the front page of TSN like every other year? I get no wjc news on their main page and have to go to the wjc section of the website. If it's not "just my feed" i think this is fallout from the HC scandal(s)

From the QMJHL, the 4 players should be Gaucher, Roy, Dean and Hinds.

I think Hockey Canada didn't go with the best goalie again (Rousseau).

It's annoying that Beck got cut but I'm being told he's a lock for the World Hockey Championships this spring so it's fine I guess. He needs to rest up for that anyway.
