Since it seems the Ducks will likely finish bottom 5 this year, I figured we should have a thread for discussing the implications of where the f***s will finish in the standings. As well as what factors could affect where they finish.

Tonight was interesting as all bottom 5 teams earned 2 points sans the Ducks and the Hawks.

Hey Folks,

Want to clear some of the air here, Tank talk is not an issue, please talk tank to your heart’s content here, totally understand how critical it is for that Future Potential Top pick. The issue is posting in the GDT, like you want the team to lose or make posts that you are angry they are winning or won the game, or bashing the team for not tanking.

The main reason is, to respect your fellow members. The GDT is about discussion of the game on a live basis and then post game discussion and opinions. A lot of fans are not rooting for the team to lose, and everyone has their views and opinions towards tanking, and may not want to discuss tanking in the GDT

If you guys have any concerns, feel free to PM me or another mod, and would be happy to explain more in detail.

There’s some nights where I want to tank, and then others where I want the team to win and spite those who are so set in wanting the team to finish last.

We have endured a miserable season and the thing that would make it worse is winning meaningless games at the end that impact Anaheim getting a chance at elite talent

last year definitely but i feel like everything was pushed back some. the last 'normal' year in 2019 was in April I believe, so hope we're tracking for that this season

I think the do the lottery show the night before playoffs if i'm not mistaken. So maybe April 17 (the day playoffs start) since they are tentative to begin on the Monday. Don't think they'd do the lotto on a weekend.

Another disappointment with the Hawks tonight. I will admit that I had my hopes up for Chicago getting a point, but I should know better. The team is terrible, and definitely worse than the Ducks.

I just hate how the same Big Teams (tm) are allowed to blatantly tank because Bettman wants them to be good again and teams like ours don’t take advantage and try to out tank them.

Had to hop off the last ten minutes of the game. Infuriating is right. There's seriously no point in these meaningless loser points and wins. Like any other year, fine whatever, go for your moral victories and work on a winning culture. This year, there's obviously a clear number 1 that we probably won't get. But those next 3-4 guys could still charge the rebuild that much further. Still some good options in the top ten but they're playing their way right out of that lucrative top 4. Season's shot. It's okay to give up this time around.

Schedule gets a little tougher the next few games, they also play Columbus one more time, and San Jose plays Columbus so somebody below them is going to get 2 points.

We need to pick at least Top 5 to get a player that can really help speed up this rebuild. Which means, need to be at least 3rd last to be guaranteed that.
