Since it seems the Ducks will likely finish bottom 5 this year, I figured we should have a thread for discussing the implications of where the f***s will finish in the standings. As well as what factors could affect where they finish.

Tonight was interesting as all bottom 5 teams earned 2 points sans the Ducks and the Hawks.

Hey Folks,

Want to clear some of the air here, Tank talk is not an issue, please talk tank to your heart’s content here, totally understand how critical it is for that Future Potential Top pick. The issue is posting in the GDT, like you want the team to lose or make posts that you are angry they are winning or won the game, or bashing the team for not tanking.

The main reason is, to respect your fellow members. The GDT is about discussion of the game on a live basis and then post game discussion and opinions. A lot of fans are not rooting for the team to lose, and everyone has their views and opinions towards tanking, and may not want to discuss tanking in the GDT

If you guys have any concerns, feel free to PM me or another mod, and would be happy to explain more in detail.

Coyotes have a ton of home games left, and they’re actually pretty decent at home. So probably a good result with the Hawks winning. Hawks still have 3 games in hand on us after tonight, and notwithstanding the apathetic effort against us the other day, have actually looked pretty competitive against everyone lately.

Just saw the loss to Pittsburgh. Gibson franchise record saves, Big Mac and Z goals, and 0 points earned. I’ll take more of those please.

There’s a lot of hockey left, but man Columbus seems uncatchable; they are so bad and the Metro gets to beat up on them for the rest of the year. That 3-goal comeback in Ohio seems like a dagger.

In other news, Montreal creates a bit more separation with an OT win over the Islanders and Vancouver lost to Detroit earlier today. Arizona is in St. Louis tonight

And Columbus actually won the game 4-3! All they needed was a little bit of encouragement from me doomposting at the end of the first period (which by the way is the first game they’ve won ALL SEASON when trailing after 20 minutes, according to the Leafs broadcast). Jackets are now four points back.

What a wild game in the StL. Arizona gives up 5 unanswered goals after having a 2-0 lead but then scores 3 straight in the last 10 minutes of regulation, including a 6v5 with under a minute left, to salvage at least a point

Sharks put it in the EN to take a 4-1 lead and they’re heading for 2 points in Washington. San Jose moves 5 clear of the Ducks and are now 1 point behind Vancouver to fall out of the top 5
