WC: 2023 Sweden Roster Talk

Just scratching Everberg and slotting Zetterlund on the third line made a pretty big difference IMO. My main problem when watching this game yesterday was Petersson in the first period not because he was bad, but rather because he had a few shifts that lasted about a minute and a half and that disrupts the flow.

Player reflections so far (on a positive note)

- Goaltenders - both very good
- Lukas Bengtsson - so fast, so skilled, does most things really well. Thought he was good in Växjö, but plays on another level here
- Patrik Nemeth - very few mistakes. Not a speedster, but underrated hockey sense imo. Smart. Good addition to the team.
- Rasmus Sandin - always a bit risky, but no other defenseman has the hockey sense he has.. and the offensive instincts
- Pär Lindholm - never has a day off. Very reliable
- André Petersson - don't think I have ever seen him work/skate this hard. Completely different player than years ago. Think he has been one of the top forwards
- Marcus Sörensen - usually not a fan, but think he has been really good on the fourth line
- Carl Grundström - so strong along the boards. Looked really good in some games

Expecting more from
- The first line. Really hope to see Alexander with William (when he joins), if only on the pp. Really curious to see what kind of damage they can do together.

Leo has been what you can expect from a youngster, but I hope he gets going and takes more initiative as the tournament progresses.

Yeah no sörensen has been fine on the fourth line Scratching Everberg made that line OK.

Bengtsson has probably been better than Tömmernes. His skating is just so slick.

You mean roll:
A.Nylander - Lindberg - W.Nylander
Raymond - Carlsson - Berggren?

Atleast trying it out would be a good idea.

Nobody has talked with Larsson about Worlds, sounds like he could've been interested.

they made a mistake registering too many players far too early in my opinion…
If only they had registered Zetterlund and scrapped Everberg right away. Then they could’ve registered Johansson and they still wouldn’t be in this spot. Imagine registering a player so bad that you have to backtrack and add new players from the original talentpool to scratch him.

Atleast Hallam realized his mistake. Garpenlöv would’ve put him on the first line after the game against Austria.

I mean his team got eliminated late U.S. time last night, it's not like there was a large window of time between then and when that article came out for someone to have reached out.

Can you believe it? William Nylander!!

Berggren - Carlsson - Nylander
Grundström - Lindberg - Raymond
Silfverberg - Lindholm - Petersson
Zetterlund - de la Rose - Sörensen

Yeah, feels a bit bad though he’s a tremendous player Sweden could really use and he’s very loyal to tre kronor. Actually had his best season yet this year atleast offensively. They could’ve gambled and kept the last spot open.

What they shouldn’t have done is registered Everberg instead of Zetterlund in the first place and they wouldn’t be in this pickle.

we are probaly ending 3th or 4th in the group. i dont see us beating USA and Denmark. Which means we will play Swiss or Canada in the qf. Another qf exit incoming. Not gotten past qf since 2018.

You don’t see us beating Denmark?
Rookie mistake

Really hope the Toronto mgmt hasn’t gotten Willy to push for the same ridiculous contract insurance bullshit Elias pushed for.
