WC: 2023 Sweden Roster Talk

No add Zetterlund instead and atleast get a 4th line that doesn’t suck.

But what if Larsson, Liljegren, Ekholm all declines? Then there is Erik Gustavsson (Toronto) and Philip Broberg...and Nils Lundkvist if Dallas gets kicked out. I guess they would be better than Folin and Persson.

Adding Sörensämst and Everberg ahead of him really hurt my confidence in Hallam. That move is just atrocious. No other way to describe it. Especially with how they have performed.
De la rose too. He is awful. They are not even finishing their checks. Atleast they could have done that, but no, not even that.

The only one I’d take there atm is maybe Lundkvist.. at the start of the tournament. Now I wouldn’t really go for either. Lundkvist is eventually going to be a really solid defenseman though.

Broberg has negative hockey IQ and Gus is just what Sandin is but worse offensively and more of a liability defensively. No reason to take either. Well maybe. And that’s a big maybe Lundkvist. But that’s the only one. The other two. No please no and thank you.

Stick with the six defensemen you got and add as many decent forwards as you can in that case.

Yes, would've much preferred a Lang - Johansson - Zetterlund third line. Hopefully Hallam learns his lessons for next year. We need generation shift in the Euro guys. Hopefully no more of Persson, Everberg, Rasmussen, Sörensen etc next season.

Exactly, I want to see players like Ryfors, Rydahl, Öberg, Lawner or Stal-Lyrenas in the EHT season. Not to get rid of Wallmark or Bengtsson, but there is no need to see Rasmussen, Everberg, de la Rose or Sörensen all the time. In defense I would also try Hasa sometime, David Bernhardt can also get a chance from Hallam. These are exactly the things I expected Hallam to want to do, but he hasn't yet and is nominating much like Garpenlöv. With one difference - Leo Carlsson. But it's his first year in office, I won't judge him by the Skoda Cup, I'll give him time to convince me that the older Euro players have had enough chances and it's time to bring in fresh blood.

Is there a reason to ever see these guys in the NT?

Coaches really need to learn how to kill their darlings.

Ryfors, & Rydahl played in the AHL this season so no EHT for them.

But there's two more than just Carlsson: Nylander, & Wallstedt. I doubt Petersson would have made the team in the past.

They had better replacements from the EHTs than the current fourth line: M.Sylvegård, Heineman, Zetterlund, & L.Johansson/Wallmark. Just chose the current one for their "experience" I guess.

Sweden will steamroll Finland and their defense. I have a feeling Alexander Nylander will be eager to show he has some NHL quality in him and he will just do that.

Same Nylander problems as Elias? High insurance? Or is everything just at the beginning and SIF is looking for a way to handle all the documents and until everything is signed, they will not issue any report?

Sandin is his great friend from Toronto, he has a brother in the team, he wants to play himself... if things go wrong again, the Skoda Cup will cease to interest me. I think I won't be the only one who loses faith in the players in NT Sweden and their desire to play for their country.

He has to pass medical, and get through exit interviews.

Yeah, I know the health check is up now, he shouldn't be injured as far as I know. So hopefully it won't be a problem and he will come, it's a shame that Seattle won today.

yes thats what is so strange. Also Lang, Brännström, Anton Bengtsson and Friberg.

Sweden will win against Finland. No doubt about that.
How are we gonna stop Rantanen? I expect 3-2 to Finland or something like that

Since there’s no word on Willy yet I’m assuming he’s a no go?

Exit interviews haven't happened, nobody knows about medical.
Exit interviews supposedly at 9am ET. So in a couple of hours? Or atleast end of season presser, maybe exit interviews are something else?

I have a source within the national team who "confirmed" he is coming. That is, William had said he is coming, but still pending on medical I assume. So, no news really until we know 100%.

I wonder what type of chemistry he has with his brother. Would be fun to see some if they have some Sedin-like chemistry. I can see them both twisting and turning along the boards and in the corners.

They just registered two forwards. Very unlikely he’s joining now.

Järnkrok will not join.

Not sure why that would make it less likely. They still have three open spots to register, two skaters

Strange that Järnkrok did not get an invite (according to AB). Would have been a nice addition imo
