The truth is that with only Euro guys, there is not much difference between us and Germany and the Swiss. The NHLers we got are middeling and don't raise the skill level enough. Seider is better than anyone on the Swedish team and you could make an argument for Peterka.

What do you think my point was?

W. Nylander is one of the few Swedes who always come to play for Sweden if he is healthy. I appreciate guys like him. Of course, it helps that Alex is already on the team.

There is a new interview in Aftonbladet with Marcus Högberg explaining his absence. He was told by Hallam that he was ranked #3 of the goalies and probably wouldn't get to play that much. Högberg then declined the roster spot since he'd rather spend time with his family. He has a 5 week old daugther

Both Ekholm and Larsson are better than Liljegren, so I guess Hallam is awaiting the outcome of those series before calling Liljegren. Same as he probably want Wennberg and William Karlsson ahead of Järnkrok. Hopefully Seattle goes out tonight and we get word on Wennberg and Larsson.

I watch it mainly to see what Carlsson can do once he gets going.

That will be fun, and there's a bunch of stuff to be interested in really. Also Fantilli and for me as a Buffalo fan there's Tuch, Quinn and Peterka (and maybe Levi). Sandin is pretty fun too.

But I would probably find it too depressing to watch a 0-5 game vs Finland where Carlsson is struggling alongside Sörensen and Everberg while the team is being lit up by Rantanen, Kakko and the likes. I need some basic roster quality for Sweden to engage at all.

But I would probably find it too depressing to watch a 0-5 game vs Finland where Carlsson is struggling alongside Sörensen and Everberg while the team is being lit up by Rantanen, Kakko and the likes. I need some basic roster quality for Sweden to engage at all.

Sandin needs a couple of years to really be a difference maker here IMO he’s clearly more talented than the other swedish defensemen (probably combined) but his decision making leaves a bit to be desired. I’m not worried though, its not the kind of bad decision making that leaves me questioning his IQ, its more the kind of mistakes that gets eliminated with experience. Still think it was a mind blowingly stupid move to trade him for Gus and a low first.

I don’t think we’re gonna see any blowouts except when the established teams play Hungary, Slovenia and maybe Austria. There’s a lot of parity.

Bringing along Everberg and Sörensen serves no purpose at all they are absolutely dreadful. Sörensen could actually be decent if he realized that he doesn’t have the talent to be a skill-guy.

On another note I think A. Nylander has gotten gradually better every game. Hope that continues.

Still dont get why Sam Hallam took Sörensen in to this team... he was a disaster last year in Djurgården when Timrå beated em with 4-0... he is an overrated player... Dahlén had been a far better choise than Sörensen...

Dahlén wouldn't fit a 4th line role. But you know who would? Zetterlund. Or Linus Johansson. But instead they registered one has-been, and one who thinks he's much better than he actually is.

hmm maybe ur right that 4th line role aint the best for him! but he would still be a far better choise for offensive than Sörensen... but yeah i agree with you so would the guys you named aswell... i dont really get how Sörensen made the team.

If Sörensen just adjusted his game to play a style that suits his talent-level better he could be OK. But I agree it left me scratching my head. But not moreso than Everberg who clearly doesn’t have the skating to be good enough here. Wouldn’t want either of Dahlén, Everberg or Sörensen on a fourth line. Would prefer Linus Johansson, Brännström and definetely Zetterlund.

We migh have to chose between Järnkrok or Zetterlund... but then we can chose between Everberg - de la Rose - Sörensen OR Lindholm - Petersson!

dahlen is never good in tre kronor, thats why he is not in the roster.

He is better in a scoring role. But even with this roster there is no place for him in such a role. Maybe if he was a center, but he’s not.

Dahlén got a lot of chances in the EHT tournaments, but didn't perform. So I get why Hallam cut him, you have to earn your roster spot and he didn't
