It sure sounds like all of this are garantueed spots in WC. I am not sure about Nylander. I am all for that he can come to Czech Hockey Games for a try-out, but I am not sure he is established enough to be handed a spot in the final roster. He should have to earn it in my mind.

Lol. Not gonna lie, was dissappointed. Don’t get me wrong Raymond, Sandin and Berggren are all good additions. I was just expecting Dahlin and Pettersson.
This doesn't mean that Dahlin and Pettersson are not coming. When they present players official, that means all paper work is done. It could just be (I am hoping) that Pettersson and Dahlin have more expensive contracts and it is more work to get insurance in order

You are right in your reasoning. I advise the rest not to panic)

EP40 now won't play due to too expensive insurance.

Edit: looks like Canucks, & EP40 wants SIF to pay for a larger insurance than EP40's current contract should have.

From my understanding of it (Granted it's machine translated):

Sweden always only insure the current contract.
Vancouver & Pettersson wants insurance for the future contract aswell since there's only one more year left.

Looks like he won't play for Sweden until the new deal with Vancouver is penned so he can get a long term insurance.

Yup that's the gist of it.

Injuries to stop Dahlin from playing, according to HockeySverige.

What a tire fire from Aftonbladet. Never seen anything like it. Too dissappointed to watch this crap now.

I mean, they were correct: Dahlin, & EP40 accepted to play.

Dahlin is just too eager to represent Sweden that he will seemingly always accept, but then something will block him and he has to rescind it. Second time now this happens. First with Buffalo blocking him, now injuries.

I doubt Aftonbladet could've imagined the insurance stuff from Canucks+EP40, those things never happen, but Aftonbladet did mention that the insurance would have to be solved first.

Anyway, bring on Leo Carlsson at Worlds.

The f***ing insurance was gonna be 2-3 msek SERIOUSLY?! You couldn’t even pay that to get a top 5 center in the world? 2-3 million gets you roughly four games in the NHL with Elias salary.

I thought our center depth looked questionable after Pettersson. Now it is a major issue. Our centers right now are Dennis Rasmussen, de la Rose, Linus Johansson, Oscar Lindberg and Leo Carlsson. Maybe there will be some more Euro adds like Pär Lindholm, Joel Kellman or Lucas Wallmark. But it is still ugly.

Hoping Seattle gets eliminated and Wennberg comes. Dream add would be Zibanejad, but I think the Rangers will advance. William Karlsson and Vegas look like they'll advance. JEE is injured

Right now, Leo Carlsson might be our #1 center...

It isn't about the sum, it's about not making any exceptions.

Embarrassing to say the least. We need a lot more money if we cant afford NHL players. If a player wants to play and we want them to play then money should never be a reason not to.

So no Dahlin no EP and no Karlsson (i guess)

Hope Carlsson gets to go and Nylander, to prove him self and get better confidence.

That’s makes it even worse its all about f***ing principles? f*** that f*** the SIF. They clearly do not want to win.

Still it's odd that Canucks insist an insurance for a cotract that hasn't been signed yet. It doesn't work like that and Canucks are making up rules of their own. Which they obviously have the right to do but still kinda shitty move. Sucks, even as a Finn i wanted to see EP play for you guys.

Ofcourse its a shitty f***ing move ITS THE f***ING NHL ITS ALL SHITTY MOVES!

Still though I hope this ends up biting the nucks in the ass EP has a year left. Maybe he doesn’t feel like simning a new contract with people who does shit like this.

I honestly understand why they say no. Without any proper long term insurance it's not worth the risk for either Vancouver or Pettersson. I hope he'll turn up for team Sweden once he has a long term contract because i want the best of the best possible to be there in lack of any olympics.

It might end up not being worth it for Vancouver EP might get pissed. Lets hope he doesn’t sign a new contract there so he can actually win a cup.

True but players come every year with a year left and i don't remember this happening. Or maybe it happens and we just don't hear about it.

Well atleast the playoffs shouldn't be preventing his future participation as the Canucks don't seem to have any kind of direction.

There is always next years WC. This i will watch with one eye, if Carlsson is in, maby.

Swish campaign for the boys? EP40 et al
Its about principles it seems. Try emailing SIF to ask what their principles are if the insurance is crowdfunded? If nothing else it might give them an out from their principles. Personally I’d easily chip in. It might be helpful if we could get the word out in that case.
