WC: 2023 Sweden Roster Talk

I wonder how to interpret the total silence with regards to Erik Karlsson. I assume he was one of the first people Hallam called and the journalist are not doing their job if they don't ask him. So I can only assume he has not answered the journalist. That must mean it is not a hard no at least, then he would have let the journalists know.
 
I’m still floored that Elias Patterson is going.

Getting a player at that caliber, single-handedly makes Sweden the favourites by quite a shot.

Also, players that are on the fence, if you’re a forward, and have a chance to play with the guy, you take that shit and run

Who from SHL finals will get a invite? My guess would be:

Pär Lindholm, Oscar Möller, Jonathan Pudas, Rickard Hugg, Joel Persson, Lukas Bengtsson, Hardy Åman Aktell, Petter Granberg. Hell maybe even Martin Lundberg, we all know Hallam loves him.

Lööv is same type of player as Folin, Lindholm, Engsund etc but better with the puck. Lööv had a great season in NLA. He is better than people think.

Btw Borgman was so bad against Norway it was sad to see him play. I guess with his partner from Frölunda in Folin, he will play better.
 
I would go with this lines against Finland:

Brännström - Carlsson - Petersson
Lang - Lindberg - Karlqvist
Sylvegård - De la Rose - Sörensen
Everberg - Johansson - Bengtsson
Rasmussen

Johannesson - Engsund
Alsing - Nyström
Borgman - Folin
Lindholm - Ollas Mattsson

Lindholm have been awful. Everyone talks about Johanesson, but Engsund have been rock solid and deserves some credit. Im not sure whats the deal with Linus Johansson in Tre Kronor, he is not physical like he is with FBK.

I'm not sure if Lars Johansson wants to go to the tournament, rather I think he wants to have time off and then prepare for the new season. Now he also got a new goalkeeper coach from Mora. As for the goalkeeper from Europe, then Enroth.

You're right, I saw Johansson's name and automatically thought it was Jacob and not Lars. In my opinion, Enroth had a better season than Lars Johansson, surprise that he is not nominated for the preliminaries.

Maybe Enroth letting in 8 goals or something against Czechia last season is the reason...

Jesper Olofsson was not playing last game, and he has been pretty bad in the playoffs. So i dont think he is coming. So just insert Marcus Sörensen there.

I dont think Joel Nyström was very impressing againt either Denmark or Norway. I think Hallam wants a more physical guy than him, hopefully its Viktor Lööv.

I’d much rather just not play Boqvist at all if he is to play with sandin. Too offensive of a third pairing. Everything is gonna be Gun and run.

How ridiculously stupid were the Carolina Mgmt to put Forsling on waivers btw?

I wonder if players from SHL and NLA finals are gonna show up in the games against Finland....i expect both finals to end today/tomorrow....they should come as fast as possible.

I doubt it since the roster have already been announced. Plus they probably need a couple of days to celebrate/lick their wounds. I expect them for Czech Hockey Games. That roster will probably be the initial roster before first round additions. NHLers who missed playoff should've had enough time to get their affairs in order before Czech games

Leo Carlsson making it to WHC become bigger since one of his coaches in his club team has been addded as one of the assistent coaches for Team Sweden.

You are probaly right, but some players might wanna join right away, and then its up to Hallam to approve it or not.
