Islanders down 3-1. Should we bring over Sebastian Aho? He had a decent year and has contract.
It depends on what other is available. And is he like a huge upgrade over someone like Pudas? Hopefully we will a top-4 of legit NHL defenders. I say Aho is a borderline call. First round exits should be a clear upgrade over someone on the roster to get a call IMO. It is always a disadvantage to come in late, adjust to time difference, bigger ice, new system, getting to know the locker room etc. Of course if gets elimanted already tonight, he has some time to over come this.

Depends on they might get Calle Rosén and Karlsson in that case with Dahlin and Sandin guys like him are quite abundant. How many PMDs do you need?

Yep, there is only one puck to go around. If we get both Karlsson and Dahlin, I expect them to play like 25 mins each. Dream additions to this teams are steady defensive Ds thats can log a lot of minutes. I'm thinking Adam Larsson, Mattias Ekholm or Jonas Brodin

My biggest problem with Grönborgs teams was this Sweden had a million PMDs and all of them were told to play like a #1 dman.

I mean they had Ekholm too, he was good but he played noticeably different from how he plays in the NHL despite almost having more competition in the WHC.

Växjö's Nicklas Rahm to be an assistant coach at Worlds. Hallam knows him very well, to say the least.

Forsling could very easily become available tonight, in which case he'd obviously get an invite.

About the defense situation I think Hallam fills (had filled) his 7th and 8th spot with Sandin and Pudas etc. One happy camper and a smallish reserve. Then we have Dahlin - Karlsson OR Boqvist.

The rest of the defense I think he fills with players with size (not small). If only teams with home advantage wins series right now we might hope for something like this imho:

Dahlin - Karlsson / Klingberg / Boqvist
Hedman (if not injured) - Forsling (LD usually)
Häman Aktell or/and Tömmernes - Larsson
Sandin - Pudas
"Reserves": Brodin/Lennström - Klingberg/Folin (not Brodins best season and Klingberg might have an injury still even if he plays)

Forsling doen't seem to have small player problems so... Folin might be the reserve on RD if they must pick a a biggie from Europe. Hedman might also be a candidate to play RD. He played with Kronwall that position long ago. I assume Lennström has his sight on NHL now and a contract there.

Rather difficult this season to foresee which players who might "turn up" later for Czech Hockey Games etc.

Iowa was knocked out of the AHL playoffs and Wallstedt is available.
Don’t think thats gonna happen. Sweden needs a WHC starter. So if any goalie from NA is going to be considered its going to be an NHL goalie. Wallstedt is probably not more than a year away from being that though considering how talented Wallstedt is and how shit Fleury is.

In that case, who do we chose of Alnefelt and Wallstedt?

Wallstedt and Gustavsson is a nice setup for Minnesota Wild for the future.

PS. Directly when all four Flames players turned down WC I immediately checked if there was a Sutter involved. And, yes, head coach. It's him or the players to blame... (I don't know coaches names mostly). Markström...

Would Wild let him go if they are still in the playoffs?

Now they called him to the first team, he is in the taxi squad I think. If the Wild advance out of the first round, he's definitely out. If they fall out, it's possible they'll release him.

There's no taxi squad anymore, he's just an extra(roster sizes in the playoffs are unlocked), acting as their EBUG.

Okay then, you just edited my information. Wallstedt is called to the first team, although Iowa was eliminated, he was not released for the needs of Tre Kronor.

So...we are gonna have 2 assistent coaches in WC, both are defence-coaches, Klockare and Rahm. Im not getting it, why not bring in a assistent coach who is offensive coach? Jörgen Jönsson for exemple. Why do we need 2 defensive coaches? Is Rahm supposed to coach the forwards? He never does that. This is weird and so typical swedish. Thermell is only supposed to be part of the Finland Games btw.

and.....Rahm is Växjö guy. And he said in interview he wants several players from Växjö making this team So we can count in Aktell, Persson and L.Bengtsson i guess...

Whats the maximum rosters spots for this WC?

Usually it is 25, 22 skaters + 3 goalies
There's also 3 substitutes you can specify to replace a player not able to continue the tournament. IIRC Garpenlöv didn't use any because he thought it wasn't fair for the subs to standby or something.

Also worth noting that the initial team must be minimum 15+2.

Our forwards are very weak. Florida, Islanders, Tampa, Colorado, Dallas, Jets, Oilers...there is no good swedish forwards there.

New Jersey and Rangers, Bratt dont have contract. Zibanejad will decline.

Los Angeles: Arvidsson is playing but is probaly injured after what Nurse did to him. I guess Kempe wants to rest.

Minnesota: Eriksson EK is injured. Nyquist and Johansson dont have contracts.

Seattle: Wennberg probaly gonna decline. Burakovsky is injured.

This will be our WC forwards most likely:

Berggren - Pettersson - Raymond
Möller - Pär Lindholm - A.Petersson
Lang - Carlsson - Karlkvist
Brännström - Lindberg - Sörensen
Sylvegård, Bengtsson

Another qf exit incoming. And yeah its possible Elias wont come, then it will be even worse.

Positive version:

Arvidsson - Pettersson - Kempe
Berggren - Zibanejad/Wennberg - Raymond

The D however i feel positive about...

Brodin - Karlsson
Dahlin - Larsson
Sandin - Forsling

Possible Hedman, Boqvist...maybe J.Klingberg wanna use WCH to get better NHL contract...could be a smörgårdsbord for Hallam to choose from...

Nylander, & Silfverberg???

I don't mind Silfverberg in the bottom line.
Alex Nylander sounds like an "extra forward" tbh. But kind of fun and interesting to see how good he has become. Nice AHL numbers this year, but I haven't really seen him play since 19/20 when he had a limited role with the Blackhawks.

Lol. Not gonna lie, was dissappointed. Don’t get me wrong Raymond, Sandin and Berggren are all good additions. I was just expecting Dahlin and Pettersson.

I guess the Worlds is good enough for Silfverberg nowadays. No respect for him. He’s turned it down a million times when he was actually a good player now he probably sees this as the last chance to possibly get invited to a best on best.
