We need to stop signing guys because they are a bargain and start signing guys that fit what the team needs. Yes it’s nice when both happen but feels like LFC is Still living in the past
I disagree. good players when they have others with issues are good buys. They need another midfielder as Jones and Elliott cannot be counted on.

Kolo Muani isn't too far off the Caicedo situation, he's got like 4 years left on his contract and there's no real incentive for them to let him go for less than their asking price, especially to a club like PSG. I don't see Krösche caving on this.

Agree re: Goretzka/Gravenberch.
But PSG offered 80M. It's ridiculous to ask more.

In other news, Barcola for 45 is nice business for both sides.
High upside but unproven.

Fati to... Brighton seems to be the latest. Sounds like that is practically agreed. Just a straight loan.

Felix to Barcelona sounds close now.

I understand what you’re saying. There’s a lot of wiggle room in all of it. My head isn’t in it basically says he isn’t playing and wants to go. Either way it’s splitting hairs.

It's not splitting hairs. Saying you won't play, IE refusing to play, is different than saying you want to leave. I don't care as it's Liverpool, but there's a notable difference between the two. My assumption is you don't mean what you're posting.

Elliott has been awesome this season. Jones needs to get over his injuries

Arsenal rumours out

- Holding getting inquiries from Luton Town, Palace, Real Betis, and Mallorca.

- Chelsea was interested in Smith-Rowe and even considered a Mudryk swap for him straight up. Arsenal said no to both a fee and the swap, which is why they turned their attention to Palmer.

- Many clubs supposedly going after Smith-Rowe, including Aston Villa once again @JPBolts

- Clubs in Germany going after Pepe, since he declined a move to Besiktas.

Arsenal rumours in

- Arsenal going after Alexander Bah, RB from Benfica. Pundits think 30 million can get it done.

- Another day where Victor Nelson, CB is being linked to the Arsenal.

- Arsenal looking at these players on loans instead of purchases.

Even if it's ridiculous, they have no incentive not to ask for more. They can pretty safely bet RKM isn't going to sandbag the season leading into Euro if disappointed and Eintracht have no real options for replacement this late in the window.

They do have an incentive. They just alienated their best player who came on a free and literally cost them nothing.
RKM is a model citizen on and off the pitch. He's getting the chance of his life to play for his childhood team. Frankfurt acting like this is frankly harsh for him. They're well within their rights but they also do have to loose from sticking to that 100M number.
75+Ekitike is already 100M.
And yes Frankfurt want Ekitike but somehow value him at 20M.

Eh. Maybe not legally, but it hurts recruitment when you dick players around who want to leave and for whom there is a massive bid on the table. Of course SGE has the reputation they do for a reason, so they may not care about that, but I'd sell any player who wanted to leave as much as Kolo Muani does.

The argument they'd make is he'll still be worth that much in a year or two. Especially if he kept pace with Kane. And that he'd help them more this season than anyone they could bring in by tomorrow.

I think it's bad practice to keep guys who want away this badly when a legit offer has been made, but the offer also isn't crazy enough that they have to take it.

Reports are that it’s just a loan. Brighton are said to be covering 70-75% of his wages.

That's bullshit if true. How the hell do you not know how to do a loan deal. Tell Brighton if they want him they can pay his full wage, especially if there isn't a loan fee. If not tell them where they can go. Same with this Lenglet BS if we're paying part of his wage still.

Yeah, I'm not in favor of holding onto players that want to leave either, but PSG left it until a week remaining in the window and knowing the price Eintracht was wanting for him. Whether they want to accommodate him or not, they have to worry about how their season is going to shape up as well and even 80M isn't going to help them do much at this stage--tread water until the January window and crash out of UECL?

Eh, it's only lasted this long because Frankfurt have been refusing to sell him for less than Kane-money. If had been willing to sell they could've had 80M+Ekitike for him at the start of the window. So I don't blame PSG here, I blame Frankfurt.

I think they thought that they could get a bidding war going between Bayern & PSG that netted them more than 100M + Ekitike or Tel, and overplayed their hand. But they may just have had no intention of selling from the very start.

Why wouldn't they though? I'm not making an equivalence, just coming off the season he just came off, being under contract for that many more years, and a team that absolutely has the means to pay that type of fee.

Ekitike makes like 2M more than their highest paid player, which is probably part of the issue around his valuation for them.
