I mean, not doing an Arthur might be learning from a mistake?

I know they need players, and I would like them to buy some, but I'm also not really a fan of giving Schmadtke the keys to just go spend a crap load of money when he should not be here beyond this window. This club, even if they were to tap into their potential with the Saudi well, need to get it right. I don't think having a piece meal rebuild on more than one department and blowing that money is a good idea.

leaving themselves desperately short so they have to settle on an Arthur because he is the cheapest is the mistake.

why hire Jorg ( unless no one else wanted the job which is certainly possible) if you are not going to give him the keys. That’s kind of ridiculous. Teams can’t afford to idle. This is a team that has proved time and time again they do not pivot well if they can’t get their targets, and it’s getting to the point where it’s cutting off their nose to spite their face

last year they were wrong on midfield , this year they are wrong on defense (and also midfield). There is no reason we should be putting ourselves behind the eight ball

I suspect the Jorg position was two fold. An audition, but probably a reality of needing to buy big, but having seen the last appointment really not work out. Whether that's because of Klopp / Pep, or because they promoted a guy who maybe didn't really think he wanted to the full time job with those personalities in the room, I don't know.

But the search has to be bigger. It is a bit of a shambles.

I do think there's also a bit of a, if we can eek into the CL, we have more options than we have now.

Which is so dumb. If you go for first and miss, you have a better chance of getting fourth than if you say the goal is fourth place. There is really no excuses here. We can’t idle the club because we are unsure Klopp’s friend is the long term solution. Missing a transfer doesn’t hurt the value of the club. Missing UCL again does

Gravenberch has upside and because of his age doesn’t take a non-HG spot. Feel like it happens as long as Bayern get someone else in.

However he is not a DM, has no idea where he plays in our system and unless he maxes out after a lost year, I have no idea what he does for us that they don’t already have. At least he is tall though. Still badly need defense; no back up (or arguably starting) right back. No CB depth. Still need DM. This is not the direction that I would have gone in

Kind of odd. Hoffenheim already have Weghorst/Bebou with Kramaric also being able to jump up front (and Beier scored one last week!) and Berisha looked great with Augsburg last season--hard to think the addition of Michel/Tietz displaced him.

Füllkrug as well, unless they truly are selling Moukoko. Also, he's a more dynamic player, but feels like they'd be repeating the Modeste signing.

Did you hear that Bayern has also asked on ABK?

Berisha will probably battle Weghorst to be the spearhead of their attack with Bebou, Kramaric, Beier, & Bischof playing off of the big man.

BVB have reportedly been looking for a bigger striker to cover for Haller, but Berisha made a lot more sense for that role than Füllkrug who will want a chance to win the starting job & cost more.

Not sure what that means for Mouki...whether he'll need a loan or if he's in the mix to play off the striker like Adeyemi and Malen do.

Yeah saw ABK amongst the bevy of CBs Bayern have been linked to, but if he comes back to germany on a loan it sounds like it'll be to BVB.

Half-hearted running around with a confused look on his face for 60 minutes?

Quietly counting his money while saving his body for the international break :naughty:

He isn’t a DM, but he’s also 21, 6’3” and relatively physically gifted. Could he learn enough to play a role in a midfield? Maybe as a partner with TAA. Or Endo.

They need midfield talent. But yeah, getting a like for like good Fabinho would have been better.

I think his upside makes it worth it if he’s not costing a ton.

Partnership with Trent would be like having a doggie door in front of the defense. Endo….jury is still way out for me. I don’t necessarily think a like for like with Fabinho was the answer here, but this is just not the right profile

Cole Palmer wants game time, meanwhile he moves to Chelsea where he’ll be lucky just to have a stall in the changing room.
No one (that isn’t going straight into the XI) moves to Chelsea for game time
