Rumor is that Montpellier has agreed to two proposals : Lens and West Ham.
It's up to the player to decide. I have no doubt West Ham will propose more money.
I have also zero doubt which is the right choice for his career.
Either playing under one of the best coaches in Europe, shine in the CL against top teams (last pot team) and pot in at least 20-25 goals.
Or play under one of the most boring coaches in Europe with zero offensive inventivité, and hopefully grab 7-8 goals in hopes a bigger EPL team catches your highlights.

Fans of lower division teams don't care if their team wins their respective league/trophies?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to deny the experience that fandom can be very gratifying even if you know your club will never have a chance to win. My point was more that this feeling of 'Oh well, I know we'll never win' so that you start focusing more on other aspects of fandom comes from that resignation that a 1st place finish will never be in the cards.

They know they'll never win the BuLi or EPL title, so why bother being fans? Winning their respective league is not a major accomplishment, so if you're going to start counting lesser milestones like that, then BuLi clubs have plenty of success they can realistically achieve between the cup, Europe, and Bayern reverting to the pre-Pep FC Hollywood that they used to be :dunno:

My point wasn't that fans accept that they'll never win it all...part of me was a little disappointed that we lost focus and didn't take the salad bowl from Bayern, despite our tremendous season...my point was that who wins the Bundesliga title is of secondary importance unless you're a Bayern fan.

What matters so much more is the connection between our clubs & the fanbase, and the game day experience...which entails affordable tickets, beer, & sausages, as well as a schedule that makes matches convenient for fans to travel to instead of cramming in as many tv slots as possible, a league that implements changes effectively, standing areas, a warm atmosphere, fans who don't only sing when they're winning, etc.

Who wins or loses is not as important as any of that as long as you can be proud of your team for how they played.

City told Benjamin Mendy to stay away from the team while he was going through the legal process for multiple rape charges. He has since been acquitted and left City for Lorient. Now apparently suing City for money 'owed'.

Sort of similar to the Greenwood case (well maybe not entirely)

I think you are conflating two different issues. Fan interest in their community club and a competitive league. Its not an either-or situation

There's a tension between what appeals to club supporters and what appeals to tv fans. That's why the BuLi is run so differently than the EPL. The EPL sold out the locals to cash in on the foreigners, the BuLi has prioritized the fans who own the clubs over tv casuals.

So it kind of is an either or situation. You can't make the money the EPL does without selling your soul, and if you sell your soul you end up with the kind of atmosphere seen in EPL and NA stadia.

Then they bitch about foreign money… it’s hilarious really.

-Not sure if this was posted, but I saw something about Paqueta and betting. Sounds like his move to City is off as a result.
-Saw what someone else posted about Chelsea and Fresneda. “More reliable” sources seem to deny it, but with Chelsea’s market you’d almost never rule out anything. I wish Barca would just buy him already.
-Sounds like Cancelo to Barca should be ironed out at the beginning of next week. Loan with an option to buy. Hopefully he agreed to lower his wages.
-Felix to Barcelona is still being rumored, but only talks right now. If we do move for him we should have a lot of leverage. I wouldn’t agree to a loan fee and only a reasonable option to buy next Summer. Additionally, the player would need to lower his wages pretty significantly.

Sounds like the City move might be off.
It was off yesterday and they cited “confidential” circumstances, guess this was it. How dumb do you have to be to do that? Though we don’t know the details yet, obviously.

They’d better get one or two guys in to replace him.

Fabrizio saying the Arsenal trying to hijack the Pavard deal from Inter whose trying to hijack the deal from United. Garden of Betrayal right here.

Also @Evilo who reported the 50 million fee from Monaco for Balogun? I can't see it anywhere!

That's the problem, trusting fans who are as daft as the blokes in the suits.

It's Paqueta's friends. Dumbasses.

He had probably already put himself in that position before Toney was suspended.
How do these guys get caught?!?!?!?! Use a friend!

The arcticle doesn’t state anything about when these supposed bets were placed, but it might have been before Toney got his suspension yes. Otherwise it’s plain stupid really.

Yeah and don’t place the whole sum from one account. Spread it out on like 10 different accounts with smaller bets.

Arsenal wants £50 million and I guess Monaco came in with €50 which is less. Monaco full on knows they can afford £50 British sterling. Do you think they will come in with another bid?

Again, you seem to be under the misconception that we'd rather the BuLi be more like the EPL, when protecting our league from what has happened in england is why we have the 50+1 rule.

But I understand why you're confused, not everyone gets it.
