Based on the twitter thread Adam Crofton posted last night, it sounds like even the board knows what it’s doing is wrong. The delayed announcement. The last minute statement yesterday. They want Greenwood the talent in the lineup(why wouldn’t they context aside) but are clearly scared/worried about making this announcement, as they should. It’s the wrong thing to do.

At most they should be announcing the steps they’re taking to rehabilitating him as a human. Put him in therapy, anger management classes, etc. Then if they want to bring him back at least they have tangible stuff to say that “he’s changed”. Just chickenshit from the club though.

They'll be able to somewhat get away with this because so many fans will tolerate it. We had a great (pathetic) example of it yesterday in this thread

Man United should know better and cut the fat off, but I sort of see where Jussi's POV is coming from. Hard to truly crucify the player from the suit's front office perspective when the victim doesn't want to testify (maybe she got threatened?). I did a quick Google search and it said that UK Courts can use voice recordings as evidence, so how were they not implemented in this trial? Those recordings should be enough to put him in jail and prevent United from being Pejorative Slur and allowing him back in the first-team squad. I actually think the courts dropped the ball here more than anything else.

Probably got threatened by her dad who was worried his free ride was over.

What happens in BuLi is that a German club will find a wunderkid in their local region, sign him, and eventually have to sell him to Bayern before he can leave for free to Bayern. It's a lose-lose situation either way, but one of them at least gives the club some money before being bent over backwards by Bayern and getting that German talent for 40% off. Another weird thing that BuLi fans sort of disregard and that is how close the suits of Bayern are to the suits of Deutschland's Football Federation. When 98% of their actual World Cup team in 2014 played for one single domestic club, that is more disastrous than Qatar buying PSG. There are definite connections and conspiracies between having a single club have all the best German talent and how that talent will develop chemistry for the international stage like the CCCP hockey team of the 70s and 80s.
Oh, it's a huge f***ing problem...right along with the entire system apparently only developing attacking midfielders anymore. The sterile possession play, lack of incisiveness on the attack, and vulnerability to counter attack seen in the national squad are all trends Bayern showed under Flick (when not covered up by Lewandowski--yes, even the treble year) and Nagelsmann.

Probably got threatened by her dad who was worried his free ride was over.
Sad but probably true.

Several different sources/articles have been saying it.

So nothing about players. ETH saying he’s open isn’t the same as supporting it. Hell he could be getting forced into it.
ETH wouldn’t surprise me. He’s supported Overmars and Promes iirc.

Players I believe a lot less imo.
Yeah I mean it’s not impossible for sure. Rashford is the big one that I’m thinking isn’t supporting it. I also think there’s a difference between supporting it and not fighting it.

I don't disagree in the slightest, but look at the attendance numbers from when a club is in the EPL and when they are relegated to the Championship. They gotta lose at least 20 to almost 40% of attendance between each division. Fans of lower clubs will always have tremendous pride, but a good chuck are also bandwagoners as well.
That's because the Barclays is a tourist league filled with half and half scarves and people in the stands filming stuff for Instagram.

I've seen more tourists with their cameras out during El Clasicos than any single match in the EPL. The only one that rivals this is Koreans with Son, but they're obviously travelling to London to see him play.

Sad but probably true.
Based on his comments after the news initially broke it wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

That athletic article claimed that we he wasn‘t close with many of the 1st teamers IIRC. I can’t imagine they’re excited to share the pitch with a guy who 1)beats and rapes his girlfriend and 2) will have to constantly deal with home and away fans constantly booing and going after Greenwood when he’s on the field.

Sounds like a deco move. Sometimes Barca just fixate on a player for no reason. You have felix Tyler players already.

The questions become what are his wages going to be and what is the potential purchase clause for next Summer? I actually would be OK taking a punt on him if it’s cheap enough a loan deal, though I feel as though it’d be a Griezmann/Coutinho esque fit where you can see some quality but he doesn’t fit into our tactics.

Based on the twitter thread shared earlier, sounds like United executives used the following logic:

"Greenwood only beats and rapes women, so nothing wrong with getting him on the pitch with 20+ other men. Keep him away from the foundation/charity though."

It sounds like they thought they could slow burn the announcement and people would eventually forget about it. Not a surprise they did it in the transfer window where I think transfers and transfer news could potentially help cloud the situation. But like I said earlier, they're handling the situation it seems like the board knows it's wrong but they want a potential world class player back in the squad. It's f***ed up.
