If fati is added to the Hal of fame for HF (what ever the hell that criteria is for it) you might as well add Dembouz.

I mean xavi still has a lot of proving to do but he’s been successful overall.

Oh not disputing that. But I got laughed at for saying that Nagelsmann was a better coach just because Xavi had been perfect for two months.

Which was sillier than anything I ever said about Mo. I hyped the shit out of him after he shined against Barca & City, but I don't think I ever s*** on other talents to hype Dahou.

I don’t follow prospects or anything, but the only one I remember being wrong about for Chelsea was Kenedy.

He had everything raw that you need to make it. Just no brains.

Dahoud also would have had a Kramer like career if he never left Gladbach, IMO. I thought you were high on Max, just not as much as Jojo.

Oh, another one for me was Julian Green. Also, two guys I liked a lot were Indiana Vassilev and Lyndon Gooch. Neither have amounted to much, although Indy bagged two for my CITY against Sporting KC last weekend. Along those lines, I was a bit of a Gioacchini fan, and he only scored one on the weekend.

Also, can't remember, are you in Chicago these days?

Mo's career wouldn't have gone any differently unless he mastered his ego at an earlier age by staging in Gladbach...as BMG was already starting to get sick of him...but how many of us had mastered our ego by 20?

Max is one of those kids that got hype from other german fans; who yelled at me for not hyping him lol...but Jojo was just beautiful at the u17 level, before the injuries. I had never seen a german player look so much like Bergkamp *sigh*

Yep yep, had to leave Hyde Park for the burbs again :-( but I'm back around chicago :yo:

To be fair, Dahoud staying at Gladbach would only have happened if he mastered his ego to the point he was willing to stay.

I'll likely be moving up to Chicago end of summer, but I'll be in the Lincoln Park area. We'll have to find a place to watch a Gladbach match.

If it makes you feel better, Kenedy is the one I remember most Chelsea fans missing on. Oscar, too.

I feel like I'm missing some other winger. Edit: It was CHO.
Injuries killed CHO. There’s no reason a player looks that capable at 18 and then gets dumped early by Leverkusen.

I think Oscar just burned out quick but I don’t think he busted or anything like that.

I don't remember Oscar being that great when he did play, but I'm fuzzy now.

I don’t think Oscar was great, but he did play a key role in teams that won a few titles and were competitive in the PL/Europe.

He played a lot of minutes at Chelsea and was disciplined enough to play as the 10 under Mou

Didn’t achieve the wonderkid expectations like similarly with Andrew Wiggins but did play a key role and a lot of minutes. So if you see Wiggins as a bust, I guess?

Touche...but if he had mastered his ego, then getting his big move wouldn't have made him complacent. So he could've taken that next step and been the Gundogan-upgrade that he was supposed to be...

And nice. My grandmother lives right off the magnificent mile, which isn't far, and I've had some dates up in lincoln park...the most beautiful sudanese girl I've ever met lived up there when we were both trying to get over exes we ended up reconnecting with

It's a pretty part of the city and I just love being by the lake. I'm in a gorgeous spot out here in the burbs and the forest preserves around Argonne are nice, but I used to go out to the lake every day when it was just a 10 minute bike ride or 5 minute drive *sigh*

...and I think I just talked myself into driving down to sit by the water tonight lol...

As for soccer bars, I'll do some research because last time I looked there was one good one that I had fun going to for a bit...Cleo's...but it was out west from where you'll be, in a neighborhood that is very much sketchy-adjacent

Yeah, my gf and I are moving to live in a big walkable city, so being out in the burbs doesn't make sense. We were up a couple weeks ago and initially thought we'd want to be like West Loop, which we liked, but we liked Lincoln Park/Gold Coast a lot more. I'll definitely be biking out in the burbs though.

Definitely get that, that sounds a lot like what pushed me and the ex to move to hyde park...well that and some nostalgia from me because I do still love that neighborhood

But it's been a s***tastic couple of years for my family's health; so I was spending half the week out in the burbs helping my mom even before the breakup. Plus the lab I was working at's out here, so it just made too much sense to leave her with the apartment.

I don't know quite how much more crowded it is on the north side, but there's a bike path that goes along the lake shore that I loved riding along when I was coming up to downtown from the south.

From Lincoln Park I wouldn't go south because there's a beach that gets crazy crowded lol, but going north from there should be a good ride...and, depending on how far you go, could take you right to the best Insomnia Cookies location

Anyways, Chelsea’s rumored two biggest targets being Osimhen and Caicedo is funny.

I guess it’s been clear that they would be pursuing only a few signings this summer for a long time but there is something funny and very chelsea about them being likely the most expensive ST and top three most expensive MFs to move this summer.

Other links at ST: Vlahovic, Ramos, Lautaro, Hojlund, David, Kolo Muani, Toney, Roque, Ferguson

Other links at MF I have seen: Lavia, Ugarte, Kone, Rice, Fofana, Thuram

I don’t watch a lot of other teams but some of these guys are very different relative to another. We really need Poch and a clear hierarchy so things are clearer in terms of direction.

It'd be smooth work if it wasn't just peddling further bullshit. Apparently you can't hype a player if you're talking about a moment in time or if it's in the past. Laughable.
I am talking about the effort, not that I agree with him or you. You get props as well for spending the time searching for all of those.

Gundo's a great get for Arsenal. Not as physical as Xhaka but quicker, smarter, and more technical.
Arsenal need a leader. Jaka was one, but I think when the Championship started to slip away - he ceased to be one. Gundo doesn't look much like a leader either...

Who needs to find sponsors when you can materialize them out of thin air?
"Sponsors" was said in a figurative sense. Let them dig them out of the ground at least...

Not Xavi's biggest fan, but he just won a league that's more competitive than the one Nagelsmann just got fired from.

I mean it's literally not as competitive as the BuLi...no big league has been this season...and Nagelsmann simply dominated Xavi in the head-to-head.

But none of that was applicable two-three months into Xavi's tenure, when somebody was coming after anyone who said that anyone other than Pep might be better.

And as hindsight has shown, firing Nagelsmann was the dumbest thing Bayern have done this century.

Alba and Busi officially leaving. Sucks to see them go, an end to an era. Choked up just thinking of it but it really is time to go and barca save much needed $$$. Alba was due for 36M he gave up, respect to the squirrel. Hope he stays in europe and plays, he can offer a lot to another team. I could easily see two more years.

Aren't they the ones rumoured to join Messi in Saudi?

We need to stop changing the plan/direction every 6 months to start. Transfer policy doesn't even matter if you radically change how you play every transfer window.
