He’s the 2nd most reliable guy in Argentina.

Well connected to the NT
Nice.

I like Alexis, and if he is going for what Romano is saying that makes a big difference. Alexis is great, but he cannot be the best midfielder LFC sign this off-season. Also I don’t see any reason to sign Alexis AND Mount but we will see what happens on that front

This guy and RJPjournalism have been pretty accurate over the past year. Obviously not T1s, but have been pretty consistent.

Love MacAllister for Liverpool. Great get. Don't think he's overrated at all.
Here is my issues with Mac Allister (and I like Mac Allister a lot)

- I don’t think he helps with LFC’s athleticism issues in midfield; he’s great at what he does but I don’t thinks he helps in the pace/power department

- If him and Mount are the main targets, I think they are redundant.

- see above point but I think (to use an Italian plumber analogy) Mac Allister (and Mount) are very good at Luigi. I don’t know if either are Mario. LFC need a Mario is that let of the pitch; maybe they think Jones and/or Trent can handle that but I really think they need another alpha in that room. Like Barella; that’s a Mario type. Bellingham is a Mario type. Mount is another Luigi.

Might be explaining this weird but maybe you see what I mean. I think the bigger Alexis price tag is, the more likely he would be the “best” midfielder that they bring in. Basically I think if Alexis is the 2nd best midfielder that comes in; it’s a good thing. If he is the best midfielder that comes in; not so much

Yes Mac Allister is a great player with the ball at his feet but I find him very lazy on the back check the few games I watched him play.

I do not want Lavia. We don't need projects, we already have Bajcetic. We need complete players so we can challenge again.
Me neither. Lavia is a good prospect but he has not shown he is ready for a step up. He is still very raw and his decision making has been very inconsistent. I honestly believe he could be a very good replacement to Caicedo for Brighton.

Considering the state of their midfield, I wouldn't worry too much about what you discussed. They need more than just him but he's a massive upgrade over essentially...everyone there. Liverpool's midfield needs a complete revamp and he's a piece to it.

Right, but the more they pay on Mac Allister the less they have to get a better player. Need to plan carefully

Yup pretty much agreed with what most have said. Alexis isn’t the guy but you can’t just have one star midfielder and roll with bums. Just ask chelsea.

Alexis 60M then you can go and get the sporting guy plus another player.

This isn't a one window job and I wouldn't sweat Klopp and money. That midfield is so dire no one but City/PSG could buy their way out of it and you have to accept the reality of playing in the best league in the world.

Either way they need more than one player THIS window

It doesn't take 9 figures to put together an excellent midfield. May not get a world-class one overnight, but LFC didn't need a 9-digit midfield to win the CL.

You don’t, but you need the right skill mix. I don’t think the mix is right

They will find deals where they don't have to pay much of anything up front. Like Jota. Not too worried about it.
It is only May

That's certainly true. Just saying you can build a CL-caliber midfield with room for internal growth for around that Alexis figure...even accounting for the EPL-tax. Obviously need to scout well and get the right mix of players, but that's true of any transfer.
