Surgery for Duran, done for the year. The wake for this season was Mookie shoving it up their ass all weekend and the funeral was last night.

So this is me just going off prospect rankings but aren't basically all of the Red Sox top prospects position players?
Pretty much

Also they are about to waste Turner & Duvall seasons - two right handed power hitters and great club house guys

I think Cora is gone

They are potentially a mess in leadership next season

They can sell out July & August but come September they will see season ticket holders offering 25 cents on the dollar

Last night was so disturbing

Yes but low minors pitchers are hard to project so don’t make many top rankings until they’re closer or in the higher minors. So much can change but they have some high quality arms in the lower levels that project well. It could all change over a year period but right now it’s more promising than it’s been in probably like ten years

This is why I go back to if the GM is telling all of us the percentages say they weren't making the playoffs why didn't he sell these guys off? That is my biggest problem with Chaim Bloom. Just refuses to be aggressive in any way. Too much sitting around doing nothing and telling us everything will be awesome.

He’s probably got one more year if he delivers this type of product

Only Oakland starters have pitched less innings per start than Red Sox

JFC Angels

Someone tell that organization to chill

LMAO they just gave up a top 100 guy for Giolito, what a circus

Sox should put a claim in on all the pitchers

Agreed but I don't think they make it that far.

I don’t think the two relievers will. I think there is a chance with Giolito
Depends on whether us or Minnesota is higher on the waiver order at the time. One of the NL Central WC contenders or Minnesota are going to get free stretch run help out of this.

I'd take Giolito though just to eat some innings.

I’m thinking SF is the threat, a lot of the others ahead of us in the order are poverty franchises

Teams within reasonable distance of a playoff spot right now in current waiver order:

Miami 66-65
Cincinnati 68-65
San Francisco 68-63
Arizona 68-63
Boston 69-63
Minnesota 69-63
Cubs 69-62

The Marlins are probably going to be too cheap to take on anyone, but I think the Reds are going to want to go for it and add to their pitching. Giants might make a move for Giolito, and I could see Arizona taking one of the outfielders.

Hopefully something is left for us by the time it gets to us.

Agreed. They have literally two legit starting pitchers right now. They're going to take Giolito.

Not sure if this August 31st waiver activity is good for the game or not. Seems teams are gaming the CBA to get under CBT thresholds post-trade deadline. I guess it's no different than the old waiver trades teams used to be able to make in August, but seems to disproportionally benefit teams in the lower echelon of the WC hunt.

Was that Luchino they showed just now?

Man, he’s getting up there in years.

I'm ok with that. The Red Sox are out of it and should try doing the same thing. But that's too much work/thought for Chaim Bloom.
