Has Connor Bedard quietly became underrated ?

Mind, I think Bedard should be playing in AHL instead of NHL, but unfortunately, that is not possible with NHL's pact with CHL.
Nevertheless, he lead his team in scoring last year, and he's leading his team in scoring this year. He's not a McDavid, that's for sure, but few players are. Even he had a stronger supporting cast, though.
Look, Ryan Donato is the leading offensive threat for Chicago Blackhawks this year, after Bedard. Donato's career high is 31 points.

Him going to Rockford would be a huge red flag. You have to be pretty bad as a first overall pick to end up in the AHL.

It's not about being bad, it's about what's good for your development. He can stick in NHL just fine, but I think that having to survive in NHL could cause issues for his future development.
And yeah, I'm assuming you are concern [forbidden term that I can't say on here but performing it is fine] but I'm still replying in good faith.

Nah, this is beyond a slump. He’s not even succeeding in getting scoring chances and isn’t getting many shots on net. Maybe he’s not suited to play center and should be permanently moved to wing. Though this means that Chicago now has a hole at 1C. They don’t even have a 2C.
Makes Chicago taking Levshunov (who hasn’t looked good in the AHL) over Demidov even more foolish.
53 shots on net, second on the team(Ryan Donato, career high 31 points) has 39 shots.
Matvei Michkov has 28 shots on goal, by the way. Since you're making such a big deal of him having 3 more goals than Bedard. If Bedard was shooting at Michkov's shooting%, Bedard would have 12 goals.
Bedard is 2 shots behind Ovechkin, a known volume shooter. Bedard is 31st in the league in shots on goal.
Bedard's ixG is 5.5. Michkov's is 3.2.

I mean in the last few games or so Michkov has been very good while Bedard has simply been invisible.

I just don't think Bedard was ever close to McDavid and Crosby generational level. His ceiling would make him have a better shot and that's it. His IQ, speed, and endurance won't be as good even in his peak imho. I do still think he'll be a player that's comfortably in the Matthews/MacKinnon/Kucherov franchise level category.

Like all he has is his shot (which hasn’t even been effective in the NHL) and that’s it. He’s small, slow, and weak on the puck.

Teenager having a bit of a "sophomore slump" playing on a terrible team while having opposing defences key increasingly on him. Extra extra, read all about it! 
Bedard was never on the level of McDavid and in particular, his "tools" have always been a little bit of a concern when it comes to playing in traffic and getting to high danger areas, handling the defensive side of the game, etc. Bedard is very small and not particularly fast (especially for a player his size). What made him a pretty clear top prospect is his smarts, offensive instincts...and especially, his shot. I'd bet on a player like that "figuring it out" with time.
Whether that's as a Center long-term or moving to the Wing...remains to be seen. We've had other top pick "Centers" ultimately more or less move to the Wing. That was always a questionmark with Bedard. One of the few real questionmarks, but it was definitely brought up at the time. More likely though, especially given the situation with Chicago's other prospects and his undeniable talent and ability to score at the NHL level as a Center, he'll be given a very long leash to "figure it out" as a Center first. They'll also have a shot at some other good Centers this year...or some Wingers with size to complement Bedard that way.
He's a good player though. Just a very young one, without a great size+speed+power sort of combo. And playing on a bad team that isn't very good defensively or moving the puck.

Unfortunate that Chicago has such trash centers that they cant even really try him on the wing for a bit to see how he does.

Yeah he only scores against bad teams. How about when his line had 12 points against the Wild and Michkov was completely dominant, coulda had 5 points, but let me guess you don't actually watch said player. Or do those games just not count because they don't fit your agenda?

I mean it's only one game, I still see Michkov and Bedard at the same table, and will continue to be. Bedard would be better suited as a winger, he's essentially a winger who takes draws currently.

Chicago should be very concerned that they’ve actively tried to be the worst team in the league for as long as they have been now and the best thing they’ve got is a wing that plays the game that Bedard does. Certainly not fully formed at 19 but there’s a long road ahead to get near how he was talked about coming into the league.
